My tattered angel ~

Seems as though my angel has been busy.....watching over, guarding and keeping safe those she protects ~ and that's gotta be hard work, and so explains the "tattered" part.

She stands approx 17 1/2" tall and her wingspan is about 12 1/2" wide. I had the most fun creating her! I used strips of muslin that I applied with matte gel medium. I didn't place them too randomly but adopted a pattern in different areas of her body.

I've topped her with a wonderful old mason jar lid, embellished with the most beautiful piece of an old earring and a strip of a rhinestones. She wears a handmade necklace created from a beautiful old watch and inside is a snippet of sheet music!! Her sheath is a wisp of vintage lace accented by a gorgeous old earring and little pearls and shells that I've glued randomly on the skirt. I love the look of this French text and created two cards to hang around her waist. And lastly, I gently sprayed her white wings with a strong instant coffee solution and dried with my hair dryer!

UPDATE: Sold ~ Thank you so much Kim!

Wishing you a very happy Tuesday!!!!
xxoo, Dawn

I have to agree with everyone! She is so beautiful. I never would have thought of the canning jar lid... it is a perfect choice!
I agree, she should be in Somerset!
I can see her next to a Christmas Tree that's decorated with lacey angels and strands of creamy pearls or buttons!

She's quite the fashionable lady! It reminds me of something a movie star would wear back in the 30s or 40s!

Hey Dawn. I think this is so wonderfully creative and beautiful. You are truely gifted. You just have such a way, what God gifted talent you have. I keep wanting to start projects you've given me so many ideas. I really need to do something & earn a few dollars, not trying to steal your ideas. I just get caught up looking and can't stop. I just want you to know that I think like so other people that you work is so simply and naturally beautiful. Thanks for being a bright spot in my day....Tracy :)
