Fall does this to me. I just want to do EVERYTHING....everything that runs through my mind, ideas I see, or books that I read....I want to accomplish so much ~ but I can only do what I can do, and that's OK. It really is. The tree below is from our back yard, can you believe that blue sky? Magical ~
A most amazing treasure arrived in the mail this week from Barnes & Noble. The wonderful Robin Brown of Magnolia Pearl has written a book chock full of her style, ideas and decorating. I know her style is over the top and I just LOVE it....trims, velvet and lace. If you love her style, you will LOVE her new book!! I've tried to give you a tiny preview below:
Another goodie in the mail! I'm scared!!! I've got to learn this though...the possibilities are endless!!
This is a totally crazy post, but look at what my son Brad found for me in a tree ~ not too high up but it was abandoned.....a giant nest!!! Maybe a squirrel's? Too big for the house but would be beautiful displayed on my front porch ~ I'll have to make a display with it as the centerpiece.
Enjoy your weekend sweet friends and thank you always for stopping by to see me!!

I'm with you...this time of year I'm going in 200 crazy ~ creative, home rearranging, craft makin', fresh-look directions! :) I think our family has learned to "hold on tight" and go with it! TeeHee

Love an eclectic post...hahahaha...
What a great nest!
What a wonderful book! A little might go a long way, but it's a beautifully romantic way of living.
Enjoy your touch of autumn...
I think this is a great post!!! That book is fantatic...I would love to get myself a copy....and PHOTOSHOP...I'm dying for that..I've been playing around with that stuff recently..and I think I might actually be good at it if I had the proper equipment!
Love the nest...what shall you make with it?
Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Doreen
The nest is wonderful-Mother nature is the queen of decorating. Look at those leaves trapped within it. To die for. Debbie
Thanks for sharing the book!
It seems to be a good one!
And I love the nest too!

I love the pictures. Because of lower humidity this time of year, we're actually getting to see blue sky, rather than the whitish blue we have through the summer. I love it!
That book looks like something I could spend hours pouring over.
The nest does look rather like a squirrel's nest. For the record, I have read that squirrels reuse their nests.
Dawn,
Thanks for sharing a few pages of Robin's book. With wt and bag restrictions these days her book was the only one I was thinking of buying when I'm stateside. I'm not just thinking about it now!! :c} Better get the order in the 21st is rushing up tooo fats!!

I am with you on the whole fall being invigorating thing--I want to do so many projects and redecorate and even clean! I love the nest--it is very "wild", for lack of a better term. Thanks for sharing!
I love the nest. Whichever creature made it, what artists they are! It's so perfect!
Aren't changing leaves against a blue, blue sky wonderful? When you have time, stop by and see my photos of my walk around a beautiful mountain lake...Oh, if only this season would last forever.
Have a wonderful weekend, sweet friend - Elizabeth
Dear Dawn,
You will love Photoshop Elements. I use PSE6 for digital scrapbooking and it is so addictive! I definitely recommend going to www.scrappersguide.com and getting the tutorial CD done by Linda Sattgast. It saved me so much time and frustration in the beginning. Also, www.scrapgirls.com is a great site, with lots of tutorials, freebies and fun stuff. Good Luck and have fun! Julia
Love the nest...always wondered where those little boogers go. LOL. When they are not tormenting the cats (who look longingly from the window). And yeah, we got Robin's book in this week...so lovely. And I bet you will do wonderful things with that photoshop. I need to do the same!

Dawn, what will you put the nest on? Would look wonderful on a chair seat or in a barrow. How big across is it? It's so neat! And the book is totally OPULENT!
Guess what I found today! In Michael's....Somerset! And there are your mittens and rag balls! ;-) I have some osnaburg that would be perfect for the balls!

I remeber reading an article about her in Country Living maybe a year or two ago.
I love her style. The nest is beautiful..

P.s thank you so much for the comment you left me earlier.
I love bird nest, and this one has found a home with you. We have hugh tree's and I am always thinking about the wonderful little nests that must be out of my reach.
Now I know you are a very busy lady..but go take a peek at my blog. I want you to see the charms I made. And a fall challenge that Julie and I put together...there is a award.
Big Hugs, Mary
What an interesting nest. Love how leaves are woven into it. Seems we aren't the only ones who like to embelish.
Fall does that to me, too! a billion ideas swirling aroundm and only so much time to "do" things.
Thanks for sharing your life and thoughts, Dawn, you are such a darlling.

Nests are intricate works of art. Several years ago a wee small nest fell out of a dogwood tree of ours and when I picked it up, it was completely lined with human hair. A nice soft bed for the eggs I'm sure. I still have the nest but have no idea what type of bird made it. I got my new issue of Somerset Life-now talk about inspirational! Your mittens and rag balls looked beautiful and I loved the Advent calendar.
