I love sharing things with you ~

I really do! As we were shopping through an antique mall this past Saturday, I would look at the different antiques and think, "Everyone would just love that!" It's true, you all have become such wonderful friends to me and we all love sharing treasured finds with our friends.

I came across a book that looks as though it's had a rough life but is so full of the most wonderful graphics and information. The copyright? 1880!!! Can you believe that? One hundred and twenty nine years old (almost) ~

This book covers so many topics but it seemed to be one of those "gotta have" books in your household. Click any of my photos to enlarge to see the detail ~

I found several ziploc bags full of antique lace, I could have screamed but kept my cool and clenched on to them for dear life ~

Several scanned pages from the antique book that you might be able to use in your artwork!!

Take a look at the illustrations below. You'll have to click them to enlarge and read. Remember, it is incorrect to ride your horse around like a crazy person or to drag your woman into the wagon with you!!

It's Monday again and I hope you have a great week ahead ~ Wishing you a wonderful Monday!

xxoo, Dawn

Wow! What a wonderful book! And the lace is beautiful. I love your comment about wanting to scream. I've done the same thing before when I've found the "perfect" treasure.

Dawn, that book is amazing!Great graphics. Beautiful lace that you were lucky to find. Love that you share with us. Your artwork is inspiring. I made some of the baby shoe pin cushions and everyone love-love-loved them. Thanks! Nancy

Whenever I see lace in ziplock bags, I think of the one who tucked it there never using it. I know that you are going to take that lace out of that plastic and lovingly create. It makes me happy!

Hi Dawn!
It is was an 1880's book on Handwriting Etiquette that most of the forms I post on The Vintage Moth came from. Aren't they just the neatest? They was such a flair for life and style back then. Everything was done with such pride. Even handwriting.
Hope all is well with you and yours!

Thanks for sharing your trip through the antiques places. We have two VERY small antiques stores in our town...pitiful to visit. Would love to traipse through some of yours; I'll have to be satisfied with the pictures and descriptions you provide so wonderfully!

I'm so glad you pointed out how Mr. B is SUPPOSED to hold the horses in ...and actually GET OUT OF the carriage to help be board.

These are great, and again, we thank you !
Have a fun and manerlly week, OK?

Dawn, I know this is an old post, but the link within recommended it...I just found an 1883 version of that book. Although it's falling apart, many of the pages are in pristine condition and I'm selling some of the plates on eBay. Nevertheless, it cost an arm & a leg, but so worth it. Hae a happy day, Mary
