Friends add such sweetness to our lives ~

Today was the most fun! Karin of One Perfect Little Miracle came to my house for a little visit. She's such a sweet person, always so very thoughtful. We had homemade chicken salad on fresh baked croissants, sweet red pepper and tomato soup and cake mix cookies for dessert!
Don't you love it when a day turns out exactly how you pictured it in your mind? Today was that day. We had the most fun talking, eating, sharing and even a little creating thrown in!! I have to show you the most incredible gift she came bearing....a hand written bird journal from 1910!!! Look below at a couple of the pages, it's just beautiful to me. Fresh eggs from her hens that are the most beautiful things ever, and I can't wait to cook up a few! And last but certainly not least, the new issue of MaryJane's Farm magazine!! Karin has a wonderful article inside where she's created a fairy bed! Just beautiful, Karin.....

After lunch we went into my artroom and since I'd been cleaning, rearranging and decorating so much, I hadn't had time to finish her gift but knew it wouldn't take much more to finish it. I had started a silver sugar dish pincushion earlier and we just sat in my room as I completed it. I know she'll get a ton of use from it as she's quite the seamstress! Thank you so much Karin for my wonderful gifts and a sweet day of friendship ~

And since I gave you such dark photos earlier, I thought I'd take a few in the daytime, helps alot doesn't it?? I know your sick of seeing my house but I just wanted to show you the living room a little brighter!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me and for your kind words.
Wishing each of you a wonderful and happy fall Friday!
xxoo, Dawn

Oh Dawn,

How wonderful a journal from 1910 and in such great shape!! I always get such a good feeling every time I read someone's thoughts so long ago, and realize that they are the same thoughts we have, all these years later!;c}

Dawn,
I had to stop by to see what other decorating you've been up to. I love the look of your hope and the little details. I wish you lived closer it would be wonderful to stop and see the room you create in. I just got some supplies to do the "Mind wide open" monthly contest. I have to teach a journal class tomorrow and then I'm going to get to it. I figure what the heck..got nothing to loose! Blessing...Sherry

Another quick note. My friend Vicki C likes to use color box Chestnut Roan to age her papers, so I pick up one of those. The two colors work nicely together, just thought you might like to know. Laurie

Dawn, what a nice picture of you and your friend - something maybe to send her to remember your day together!

In your photos of your home, the floral picture hanging on the right-hand side from the tobacco drying rack - I have almost the same one! I found it in a little flea market about 20 years ago deep in the mountains of PA in a town called Blackwell for only $6! And, it's framed in a dark wood serving tray under glass! I have had it hanging in my home somewhere ever since I bought it.
Antique pictures like this are getting harder and harder to find!

How awesome that you received such a treasure from your friend! Your home looks lovely, sure I can't entice you here for a little working vacation? I was planning on stopping by the boos store on our way out of town, I'll have to pick up a copy of the magazine. I enjoy your recommendation so much.

Just to let you know, I got an email from the magazine last night. They have decided to delay launching the publication until 2010 so all submissions have been released and returned. Notification will go out before the next launch date. So, my little bird will remain at home. Thanks for the support!
