Such a WONDERFUL field trip!!!

Yaaaaay!!!! Spring has totally sprung here in Georgia and
this past Saturday was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
It was breezy, low 70's in temps and just perfect.
We decided to get up early (yes, don't faint, I really did it!)
and get going around lunch time to head out the Scott Antique Market.

What's so funny about this market is that it's held in buildings that used to be
stores we loved when we were growing up...Richway and Treasure Island!
Yes, those names sound so cheesy but my husband and I grew up near
both of these stores, we went shopping there as kids
and now these old buildings house this amazing market!!!

Oh well, enough about all that...just look at the goodness I saw ~

And I know this is quite pitiful but all I spent was...wait for it...
$18.00.
Yes, I know. There were so many treasures to be had!!!
But I have so much stash here already and just
can't justify buying more until I create more!

What DID I buy?
The most amazing speckled canvas fabric....
THIRTEEN yards of it too!
I love creating with this stuff and it's so much a yard at Hob Lob but I
found it for much less...

One sweet piece of stained linen with gorgeous lace and
a beautiful blank diary/journal from 1930.

The most encouraging thing of all from this field trip???
There was SO much inventory at this market and
TONS and TONS of customers buying!!!!
What does this tell me???
Folks are sick of the economy...and sick of everything else ~
but are ready to buy beautiful,
wonderful, old, amazing, gorgeous stuff!!!!

It really was such a great trip...
I hope you enjoy my pics!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday my dear friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Oh Dawn, this reminds me of our day of treasure hunting at Scott's 3 years ago.... That was such a fun day, I don't think I will have time to do that this June when I'm in, but there is always next year~
I am being a night owl, listing, Pinning & just catching up on to do's
Have a great week,

Hi Dawn, what a wonderful place. I really envy you. And while I admire your restraint in buying just a few 'lovelies' I'm afraid I would have bought up just about everything, and then we would have had to build an extention, or even move home to house it all.Boy, that would have turned into an expensive day out. lol

Oh what a "Field Day" that really was Dawn! I'm sure you would have had heaps of fun and inspiration from seeing all those treasures!
I can't imagine seeing ALL of those items we aspire to obtaining in the one place!
Enjoy your finds! Less can mean more you know!
Sending hugs,
Suzy

Great pictures, Dawn! It looks like there was a lot to choose from. You've got me itching to go to the place that is about a half hour away from me. They usually have a Vintage Marketplace addition in May and September, so I'll have to plan to go.

Oh.My.Goodness! I had to go back through the photos twice. That is the kind of place where I get so overwhelmed that I can't even make a decision to buy ANYTHING because I'm just sure the next table will have the one thing I really want. Loved looking at all the pictures. Thank you for sharing your field trip!

I agree with you Dawn. People are turning against the mind set of buy, buy, buy and back to hand made goodness. It's very gratifying. I LOVED the printers tray with the german dolls and rhinestones. I'd have been tempted to say "how much for the whole thing?" Only if I won the lottery. What a fun day you must have had!

Dearest sweet Dawn- this is just too good to be true!! Never have I seen such huge stasches of amazing stuff!
In my dreams there will never be anythink like it here--even the biggest markets dosen`t show such goodness, and so many gorgeous old pieces!
Here in DK, it is the same, people buy old, collectors alwayes want to spend some money when seing what they treasure!
I will dream of walking that market with you, one day :-)
Love and hugs,Dorthe

How much fun! Looks like a perfect way to spend a day. Wish we had something similar near by!

I can't even imagine what it would be like to visit a place like this - we have absolutely nothing like it here in MT - not a treasure trove where there's tons of one thing - like watch parts, or doll parts, or lots of old lace/linen, etc. Maybe for me, it's better (cheaper) that way, but I'd still like to try it sometime! I am SO jealous.. we just don't have anything even near that in my area. I saw so many things I'd love to have. I think your purchases were pretty good... a real deal on that fabric. The diary was interesting.. could be a relative!!!!!! "White" is such an uncommon name!!!! Ha.

I saw the $3 for old watch faces and thought that was quite pricey. Is it?

Wonderful score on the fabric!
