Renovation in progress ~

A while ago someone was so kind as to put together all of the photos that I had posted of my little artroom!! Smashed stuff but such cool stuff to make art with....

I'm still painting and working on the new studio ~ The color looks a little greenish here but it's not ~ the light makes it look different all through the day. I just wanted a neutral backdrop because I have so much beautiful fabric and other patterns that will be going on that I knew it needed to be a calm color. You can see that I haven't cut in yet around the edges, I'm covering up a steel blue and burnt orange color. The sheets on the tension wire are covering the garage door! Brad took down the hardware and tracks but they can be put back up any time. He just used duct tape on all of the joints of the door to keep the elements out and it is screwed shut so it cannot be opened. The outside wall must be insulated because it's never really extreme in the summer or winter. A window unit keeps it cool during the hot months.

So, as you can see I'm still in the midst of this massive project but can't wait to see everything in the room and organized!!

After painting so much the last few days, I'm sore in areas that I didn't even know I had!!! But it's good for me and I'll be glad that I did it ~ I hope you're having a great week.....

Wishing you a very happy Wednesday dear friends,

xxoo, Dawn

Hmmm, do grandmothers start fluffing before the grand is born? I've never heard of that, but...

And what's Emily up to? Has she been nesting, too?

I love your studio--it's so wonderful! I know what you mean about being sore after painting and all--we're working on a remodel in our living room. We moved into a brand new house a few months ago after living with family all year until our home in Idaho sold, and this house is so not me! It's got a lot of designer touches that are awful. I don't know where that designer came from, but they were miles away from my tastes in decorating! I have a tiny little bedroom in this house that I want to paint and make into a workroom for me (I hesitate to say "studio" because I don't think I'm much of an artist), but don't even know where to start. I guess with paint--it's very dark--"designer" paint job that went wrong, I think!!!!! Anyway, I love what you did with your room! Have a great day! ~Jann

PS--Dawn, I know that was your old studio, and I know your new one will be fabulous, but I still love the photo of the old one--it's so cozy and filled with such wonderful things!

Hi Dawn

Looks like a great start! I love stopping by your blog for snippets of inspiration. I'm secretly glad to be back from vacation since you don't get to create much away from the studio! ;)I remember when I painted my store I couldn't believe how sore I was. I also did a decorative hand painted ceiling. Yikes! Many trips to the chiropractor...haha. The things we sacrifice for the beauty of our "nests"

How lucky you are to have a designated area...I'm afraid mine has taken over the whole house...but then again, why do I worry, it's just me and the dog...the Pink Chateau is my studio of life...guess I wouldn't have it any other way!

Can't wait to see the results!
