Sunday was a very productive day for me ~ housecleaning while DH took the boys to a movies is always a good thing! I love doing that while no one's home for some reason. I usually sprinkle a few tablespoons of lavender on the carpet right before I vacuum to help the house smell nice. It was cloudy and rainy so I lit a few candles to make it smell even better! Plus, I had tons of laundry to do, uggh. My least favorite thing but so very necessary.
It didn't leave me a lot of time for creating today but I've started on a few projects for JoAnnA at Moss Hill Studio and haven't quite completed them enough to show them yet.

This first botanical is one that I bought awhile ago and just love. I took it out of the frame to clean it and thought I'd scan it for you too!
This next scan is from my collection from Corey at Tongue in Cheek ~ I love the stains . . . I should have given you this one before the Fourth!
A beautiful postcard back from Corey too ~ don't you love the handwriting?

These next three photos are clips from my idea books ~ I love little ideas. Just small little touches can make things special. Look at these terra cotta pots grouped together and used as a centerpiece ~ the bottoms are casually dipped in paint to add a special touch!
This is another idea I LOVE! I've made these before and sold them ~ chicken wire placed inside of a beautiful old frame ~ just use a staple gun to pull it tight ~ and clip beautiful images, artwork, photos or even fabric swatches and use it as an inspiration board. It could even be a message center in your kitchen!
This particular photo just looks beautiful to me. Elegant but comfortable all at the same time. Have you ever washed damask upholstery fabric before? It puffs up and has the look that's on this chair. I love it!! It has that "lived in look" but still so very pretty.
Just a few little ideas and images for you. I hope that your Monday is a great one!!
xxoo, Dawn

There are no such things as "little ideas" over here! Looking forward to seeing your new projects.
Thanks for the beautiful inspiration! I especially like the floral illustration. Quite pretty!
Thank you for the lovely images and the beautiful eye candy. I am always inspired when I visit you.
Oh, and I saw your bird nest shadow box in Somerset when I was at the book store the other night. It's such fun to open those magazines and say "I know that person". I love that shadow box too! Karen
I have those same photos is my "ideas" binder!!
I, too, love to clean when no one's home. Have you heard of Flylady? She calls cleaning her house her 'home blessing hour'. I love that...
Gotta go..I'm "blessing" my house today!! ;-)
I especially love the floral picture and the last 'comfy damask' pic. I didn't think about the damask puffing up for a slipcover- but you're right, and what a GREAT idea- especially to save time!!
Thanks for all your great ideas- Lydia
Hi Dawn.... The damask photo has just the right crystal... chippy.....tarnish... for a timeworn appeal... Very cozy and romantic in my eye.....

I love those little pots, and that comfy looking chair!! I can so see you sitting in it, powdering your nose like you like to do, or holding a sweet Edmonson baby in your lap in about 8 months.
Love ya'll!!

I always love everything you do and it must be because the name of my store is Feathered Nest but I am in Renton, WA. My shop is vintage and new and I always get renewed inspiration when I see your blogs. I wish I had the time to do all that you manage to get done. Keep doing what you're doing!!!
I love your blog and the images are beautiful. It is so nice of you to let other people enjoy them. I love the pots dipped in paint. I will have to try that.
Dawn,
You are always so kind and thoughtful with your cards and pics no wonder folks are so giving back to you. A sweet gentle soul.
I need to say congrats and thank you... I have been thinking since my youngest son got married what I would be called. I don't like grandma and nanna is taken. ooma sounds too old but Mimi works very well. LOve it! Thank you so much.
Wonderful news. I can't wait to see the pics you will take of the little dickins. Or Darling...

Give me the armchair and chickenwire and I may never leave my room!
Lovely.
oh lavender smells so yummy.bet your house smelled absolutely lovely after that.
oh the pictures are a delight for the senses Dawn. I love the picture frame idea. Will have to remember that next time I spy an empty frame, as I have a roll of leftover chicken wire in the garage that is left from crafting the chicken coop..I couldn't bring myself to toss out or sell what remained of the wire..looking at it and just knowing that "I could do something with that"..ha.
So..thanks for the idea..I'll be on the look out for empty frames now.
hope you are having a lovely week thus far.
hugs, Tina
p.s. you and I are most definitely are kindred spirits..ha..I'm not fond of laundry either..and especially hate folding socks..ugh..LOL but do it I must.
somehow I don't think a nudist colony is what we need around here..ha
Well, you certainly have me feeling all warm and fuzzy. I love the images you've given us (especially the star spangled banner). Thank you so much! And the ideas are amazing - dying for a chicken wire inspiration board now. Also, I am feeling pretty special because my two living room chairs are coverd in damask slip covers, and I washed the fabric 6 times before I gave it to the upholsterer. A trip to visit you is wonderful, as always.
