A blank canvas ~

Hi sweet friends! I'm still working around the house,
changing a few things and cleaning even more.
Do you remember this old window from our old house?
I had it hanging over the fireplace filled with these
beautiful rose botanical prints.

Well, I've had it here at the farmhouse for over a year now
and hadn't found a home for it yet.
And truthfully, the rose prints needed to go ~
as much as I love them, change is good, right?
We'll see I guess!!!

It's hanging now on one of the dining room walls just waiting for a makeover.....
I'm going to think a little about it as I know there are tons of great ideas
to make this old window look beautiful!

Here's a great idea from Southern Charm Cottage.....

How about this one from the Nate Berkus website:
Clear photo corners were used...what?
have you heard of these?

Or how about this one using wonderful old photographs too:

Maybe I should just hang a gorgeous wreath over it through Christmas
and decide what to do with it when the holidays are over like this:

Here's another one ~

I just know I love the wall showing through the glass...
so whatever I use will not fill the entire pane.

Are things coming together for your and your Thanksgiving gathering??
I hope so....and just remember, don't panic...
what doesn't get done, doesn't matter!

Have a beautiful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dawn,dear-
your old window is wonderful, and I too love the idea of seing the wall through the glasses-
I know whatever you do it will become beautiful.
The last photo you show is my favorite here- but the ones with old photoes are truly beautiful, when christmas is over.
Hope your day will be happy, dear friend.
Hugs and love,Dorthe

It's nice to know that there are so many things to do with those frames. Right now I'm still loving my birds...your birds...birds. They're great!

Happy Thanksgiving! I would do collages of birds and other objects on the window. Maybe cut some particle board for the back, then you could add objects that are 3 dimensional. just a thought

Mmmm, a peaceful post - I come here to calm down, and you did it again! Love the window, keep the wreath - you will know what to do with it when the inspiration hits you, and it's always a winner when you are inspired! Thanks for sharing.xo

Beautiful Dawn! I love old windows! I have one hanging over my fireplace this year with a white feather wreath tied with a red ribbon. I also have one hanging over my bed....

Can't wait to see how you use yours! I know it will be fabulous!

Hmmmm....really liked Nate's idea and yes, I've seen clear photo corners but unfortunately cannot remember where I saw them - Hobby Lobby maybe? Anyway, was loving his idea and then saw the last photo and that was it - sold on that one for sure. Can't wait to see what you do. It will no doubt be my top pick!

Happy Thanksgiving Dawn!

Hugs,

"Her" and Romeo

Dear Dawn,
I too love the windows. My sister lived in a little cottage style home and she named it Teacup Cottage. She hung her window (minus the glass) on her front porch. She screwed a cup hook in each window and hung a teacup. She then mosaiced the top of the window pane with the words "Teacup Cottage". And boy, was it cute! So if you can't find a spot inside...maybe outside! There's so many choices, that's what is so great about these windows. I do like the wall showing through and the wreath hanging on the front.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Love and hugs,
Sonya

Thanks so much for sharing my window Dawn! Hanging a wreath is a great idea because you can change it with the seasons. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Thanks for the inspiration! I'm going to move a long window I've had hanging as a "room divider" that my 6'2" son always hits his head on to the back window. Maybe use some of those photo corners and add some family pictures on it! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
