A little fall cleaning ~

I don't know why, but my studio can get in worst shape SO fast!!
I make piles upon piles and eventually,
you can't find a thing and it hurts your eyes!
Then I avoid it.
So it was time to do a little straightening....

It's still way too overcrowded but I'm going to be working on that....

This is the pic that will hurt your eyes....there's way too much junk on those
little wire shelves by my desk. And don't you love the pretty duster in the foreground? :)

A pile of mending I need to get to ~

My sweet wax girl overlooking it all ~

I had this little cabinet in my antique space (which we've moved out of)
and started working on it ~ it needed a new paint job and maybe something
wonderful inside the door panel?

My fave little doll dress ever, hanging around to make me smile ~

I've always loved this old basket too ~ it looks like it could be a doll bed to me.

Another sweet mascot cheering me on:
"clean this dump up!"

Well, this weekend our son David is moving out of our house
and in with his brother, Brad ~
I've really enjoyed him living here with us
but it was only supposed to be temporary.
I'll be playing in his old room (now the guest room),
straightening up and cleaning it as well.
I hope to add a few more storage pieces in there for fabrics and such
to relieve some of the excess clutter in the studio!

I hope you're having a wonderful week sweet friends...
the weather here has been so nice, low 80's for the temps
soft breezes and I've noticed the sun setting earlier each day ~

Wishing you a beautiful Tuesday precious friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

It's always so much fun looking at other people's "stuff"! I know I should spend this time clearing out/cleaning up my clutter, but this is more fun!

I love coming over here and seeing what you're thinking about and doing, Dawn! I was surprised that you've moved out of your antique space. Will you be going somewhere else, or are you done with that entirely for now? I always thought how perfect that was, that you had that extra space to 'spill' into with all of your vintage treasures, making your pretty vignettes, etc.

take care,
maggie

I know you are feeling tight is your beautiful farmhouse...I think in time you will come up with ways to organize but still have it all at your fingertips. For now we will call it them piles of inspiration.

DAWN , I so understand -- mixed media makes :)us
collect everything ,and ya gotta have things from
paper , fabric 10 types of glue - 30 pairs of scissors -- every ink color and glimmer mist -- plus buttons, metal, , ribbon and wire and we cannot talk about my book fetish --The only way to keep mine straight would be to hire a maid -- and she would run away screaming lol .
Love ya dear friend --CREATE ON !! Kathy - ga ♥

Same here, I clean and organize constantly but that is part of the process. My goal is keep moving pieces into the "must make something with this - pile".

Your clutter is glorious and I know you'd love more room, so do I. What's a creative spirit to do?

Hello dear Dawn, your studio is lovely, as always. It's so impossible to keep a studio neat and tidy, isn't it? Creativity is very messy!! :) All your treasures make the space so charming!

Ouch! You got me - my office/studio is a disaster. I did a whole refit this summer and still haven't finished it. Hoped to have it done before school started and post photos - but only posted a few pinks on Pink Saturday weeks ago. Now, I will need to schedule a day to do the deed - and what piles I've accumulated! Best to you as you bring order to your own domain.

Joy!

I am so glad I am not the only one with the messy studio! I took pictures of mine over the weekend to do a before and after, but I haven't got to the after yet! Your studio is beautiful..

I know about that clean-out-your-study time too!

My collections are usually paper related -- clippings and print-offs and slips of paper with just-discovered new ideas or quotes... so not quite as interesting as your studio.

Loved my visit... first time..... and I'm following so I don't lose you!

Wishing you more glimpses of heaven in unexpected places.......

My troubles are that just as I get a surface clean again, I feel that I can do something fun again. I need to buckle down and straighten until it is accomplished all the way. And moving things to get to things is not fun. I see that you are having to do that. It's timely then that your son is moving on to new digs so you can expand your storage areas. Any dreams for building a studio on the back lawn? ☺
