Oh I hope spring comes soon for you! Sorry, here in CA we had a 75 degree day. Don't hate us! Hugs, Riki
Us Northern girls just get used to it I guess. I love autumn and Christmas, but I am with you... Weary of all the bitter cold this year and ready for Spring!
Dawn, sweetie,-
well, getting used , like Nita said,- but with christmas gone and all the huge snow masses we have had here-, I don`t love the snow anymore for this year.
Lets hope for a early spring, dearest friend.
Your house looks beautifull, from outside, too.
I hope your day will be happy, my sweet friend.
Love and hugs, Dorthe

Well, my dear Dawn, we have lots of flannel PJs, drink hot chocolate or cider, a lot, we change to flannel sheets, more blankets, wear slippers, get out a multitude of winder coats- a super puffy one for those really cold -25 days or colder, have a lighter one for not so cold days, another for working outside mucking about ,etc. Then we haul wood, stack wood, burn wood, turn up the furnace and we are still cold.
So we cuddle under big fluffy throws and watch movies and drift off into a near hypothermic sleep.
We too think about spring A LOT too. Some of us look at gardening catalogues and order seeds and plant them under grow lights in our basements, rejoicing as those tiny sprigs of life poke through the artificially warmed earth. You are very fortunate to live in Georgia! We are currently caught in a bitter cold spell of near -30 temps at night (Celsius, that is) Out west is gets MUCH colder and this has been a very mild winter so far!
As we hear of another 6 inches of snow due to us on Friday, I may have to spend the day with your darling farm house up on my screen to remind me this is just temporary.
I've learned to LOVE January. Since it's the same every year here in Michigan, I make NO plans - except with good magazines, books, warm quilts, a fire, furry dog, and The Husband God Gave Me.
Don't mind the cold. Cannot stand the heat!
I miss it, too, this year. We just got six more inches and I must say it is gorgeous. I must decide to have a crush on the wonderland of it all again or I shall go mad, hee hee. Blessings dear one.
Dawn,
I am with you, I don't know how those northern gals stand the cold and snow either. My crazy iris must be craving spring too, I noticed them poking green little stems out of the snow last week! It will be here before we know it! Have a happy Tuesday!
I refuse to look forward to Spring:) It seems to make time fly too fast and last year was WAY too fast for me! SO, I am just gonna enjoy this rainy, cold day and enjoy the Spring when it rolls around! Love your sweet home! HUGS!
Love that image of your beautiful, perfect farmhouse!!!
XOXO,
Anne
Hi Miz Dawn,
I looked hard at primroses at Lowes recently, so pretty and cheerful, they always tell me spring is just around the corner. I imagine you will have some fun digging in the earth soon. I love this shot of your house, it reminds me of Green Gables, http://the-rustic-victorian.blogspot.com/2010/03/spring-is-just-best.html ...don't you think?
I don't know if that link will work...hope so.
Anyhow, I am enjoying my visit with you so much this morning. Great articles in the magazine and the book looks so inspirational. I will bet you are making something wonderful today.
♥Love♥

Dawn, We've had several snowstorms here in NY and I am truly ready for spring and some nice warm weather. Today...pouring rain on top of 2 layers of ice & snow....s l i p p e r y!!! I'm using ski poles to get to my barn. Love your site...I think some of your soaps are in my future. Sherron
Dear Dawn, I am back to the land of the living...now to find a project. Green Grass and flowers sounds so good right now. I too am ready for spring. I think the holidays kicked my behind big time...so on to the daily things that are a little less stressful.
Think of you sweet friend, Mary
Dear Dawn, I am a Four Season girl. There is so much to love about Winter, the cold, the SNOW, the warmth of home fires burning. I wouldn't appreciate spring as much if I didn't have winter. Time goes by so quicky, let's enjoy this beautiful day! Love, Penny
I always think I want to be up north with all the seasons and such, but truth be told, I'm not sure how I would do after many snowed-in days.(Shhh..don't tell my husband I said that!!)
P.S. Your soaps look so lovely!! I also LOVE the fact that your 2 Bags Full nest is in a vintage bird cage!!!!! Very cool.
Right there with you! Bring it on, I'm so ready to go digging in "her" flower beds, pee-ing on a few of her plants, and climbing some trees.....oh Dawn, let's make a wish together, you and me, let's wish for SPRING!!!!!! Weeeeee! Okay, sorry got a little carried away, cabin fever spiked with catnip. That's what it does to ya ;)

Dawn,I too amso ready for SpRinG! The next few days here in Chicagoland are supposed to be terribly cold...colder they say han it has been for years! Tis so true...the older..or...shall we say the more experienced I get in life..the MORE I hate the cold! So the next few days you will find me under my pink snuggie...keep a warm song in your heart!
Hi Dawn, I am not quite ready for Spring, but so glad the ice is off the road- we are in GA, too (Duluth). Your blog is wonderful!
Dawn, your new home looks so beautiful, I love the front porch and screen door. At 62, I am learning to try to enjoy each day we are given, guess as you get older the reality sinks in that the clock is running down. and I am going to try to enjoy each and every day. This to shall pass, and the humid days will be here before we know it. take care my friend.
Oh, forgot the most important, thank you for your blog that cheers us up in all seasons. love from iowa
