Book love ~

From the looks of our home....I cannot deny my true love for books!!!
They are EVERYWHERE!
I use them in decorating, in my artwork and
even sometimes to read :)

I don't really read novels but love
artist, educational, how-to and decorating books....
And of course I cannot resist an old, tattered book too!

I saw this display at Paris Market in Savannah, GA and loved it!

One of my newest books ~

Wonderful book gifts from Lisa....

Yummy ledger books....

And a book that I can't wait to get my hands on....

And one more book I can't wait to buy....
the title is so WONDERFUL and has become my motto for life!!

A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of A Misspent Life:
How to live creatively with collections,
clutter, work, kids, pets, art, etc...
and stop worrying about everything
being perfectly in its place.

I just wanted to spread a little book love today!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

You've got such a great collection of books, Dawn! The covers are fantastic {and I see a few titles I wouldn't mind reading either}! I never find any good ones like these at Goodwill. I guess I'm looking in the wrong place.

Oh my goodness!! Your photos are fab and I felt right at home as we too have a love of books. Well, two out of five of us do. That's more than enough to fill all the shelves, treasures volumes, tattered volumes, reference volumes etc. Wish we could visit and spend a lovely afternoon just browsing and being inspired. I love the Treasured Notions book too. Just looking at it gets me all inspired. Thanks for sharing!

I always enjoy your posts but don't often comment but today I just have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are spreading book love. In my home, I'm always trying to keep my book stash under control in case I move house some day. Maybe I should just give myself permission to surround myself with them - but I think dh would have a comment or two about that!

What a treat for my eyes this morning! I think I must love books as much as you but mine aren't nearly half as organized. Time for some organization!! Thank you Dawn for your ever inspiring posts - they make my day!

Be still my heart! I love books, old and new. When I was little I wanted to live in our public library. That last one looks like one I need to check out! Thanks for the tip. Have a great day!

We share a love of old books and not necessarily for the reading of them, but for the look of them. I see that we even have some of the same books! Interesting...

I loved those photos of old, tattered books.
I'm with you - i can't pass them up.
Some, i like to tear the "hardback" off and expose the aged spine, stack about 3 and tie with string or ribbon that's been aged. Mmmmm.

Thanks for sharing - you made my day!

I'm right there with you Dawn. Everyone in my family reads novels etc but I'm drawn to the artsy books, and of course the irresistible "old books"! Love your ledgers. If I could have a room (after my studio is built of course) just to use for anything I would make a library, how cool would that be!

I have that same weakness too!! I especially love decorating books--and the good old tattered ones!! Thanks for sharing your lovely collections! Julie

Oh yes, books. A definite weakness. I'll keep "her" on a leash so "she" doesn't sneak over and start rummaging through all your books. I tried to send "her" to book gatherers' anonymous, but "she" collected everyone's manuals and ran out the door with them. They called me and asked me to keep the doors locked so "she" couldn't do that to them again. *sigh* And now "she" is drooling over the new book titles you mentioned....hope no one gets hurt as "she" runs over to the Amazon site to add them to the wish list.....

I hope you are having a grand week Dawn!

Purrs!

Dawn- I'm with you, I've really gotten into using books as props and craft inspiration. Love that display from the shop in Savannah. With all your great pictures, you could put together a book about decorating with books. I'd buy it!

I love the written word also! I cannot get enough of them. I was watching a movie the other day and grabbed my notepad, to make notes, just written words to let my thoughts be gathered on what I was seeing. It was the Book of Eli and a fabulous movie for its meanings!

Cherish what we have and take nothing for granted.

You photos bring smiles to me, your neatness and cabinetry for storage, Your creations! SO inspiring!
