Can you say PAY DIRT? :)

And what exactly is Pay Dirt?

PAY DIRT
n.
1. Earth, ore, or gravel that is profitable to mine. (no, this is not the definition I had in mind!)
2. Informal A useful or profitable discovery or venture. (this is more like it!!!!!)

Well, we hit pay dirt this weekend when Dennis and I went junkin' together!!! I always, ALWAYS love going to old country towns and happening upon a store with just good old fashioned JUNK!

The store keeper said that his father opened the store in 1903
and he took over after his dad retired....
and they STILL have a few things that are old store stock!
Some of the items were just things he'd collected over the years
and was finally letting go of ~

We really liked the man and his wife and he just loved
that we liked so much of his junk!!
Some of the finds went to Antique Griffin....
and of course some went straight to the studio!!!!!
Take a look at the booty ~
and remember to click twice so the photos will get BIG!

Fort Bragg, 1942....and it's FORTY SEVEN INCHES LONG....FRAMED!

So, what'd'ya think? Yummy huh????
And Sunday we took some of the goodies to our antique space ~

It was a very productive weekend!!!
I hope your weekend was wonderful too
and that you have a great week ahead....
Noah starts school this week, seventh grade ~
I can't even believe it!!

Thank you always for taking the time to stop by and see me,
hugs and love sweet friends,
Dawn

Don't you just love it when the flea market fairy sprinkles you with dust? Awesome finds - the mica sheets are to swoon for! I see some serious crafting going on in your future. We made a great score this weekend too, three old railroad carts, a trade for two tires! I am in coffee table heaven right now. Have a sweet day!

First of all, before I forget it, my heart goes out to Noah starting school so early in August. This is just me talking, but I would prefer that all children know the joy of getting out of school the first week of June and not returning until after Labor Day. That said, I bet that he's excited about junior high!

Ohhhh, what lovely things you found. Lots of things to stock up with at your shop and some things that I want and will have to look for here...the old chippy laundry basket for one. :D

I went shopping with John yesterday at the flea market and I was delighted to spend just $4.99 and come home with special treasures. Some shopping days are just better than others.
