What an amazing weekend!!!!

This past weekend was just wonderful!!! Tammy of The Other Side of Me hosted a Girl's Weekend Getaway at her home in Gray, Georgia. She invited me to attend and teach an art class about one of my projects that I'd made in the past, a plate collage. She sent her gorgeous invitations and there ended up being eight of us girls all together. Let me tell you, this was a PRECIOUS group of women!!!!!

I'm amazed at how women who have never laid eyes on each other before, can gather in a beautiful studio, surrounded by things they love, and can INSTANTLY bond with one another and just be truly KINDRED SPIRITS!

Tammy was the most amazing hostess with an impeccable attention to detail....gift baskets CHOCK FULL for each and every person, she created each one of us beautiful aprons to wear, lunch at a nearby tea room and even fresh roses by each bed. It was wonderful!

Here is the gift that I gave Tammy in appreciation
for her inviting me and a tiny version for her
sweet little three year old!

Just look at Tammy's studio and all of the gift baskets! We each made something for one another to be added to the baskets ~

Tammy's new studio was wonderful, inspiration was everywhere!

A peek at the sweet aprons Tammy created ~

A few supplies for the project ~

Here is our wonderful group!!! (L-R) Ruth (Tammy's mom), Judy (Tammy's SIL), Luz, Lee, Tammy, Angela, Natalea and yours truly.....

Look at the yummy lunch we enjoyed after the class at a local tea room!!!

Sweet Tammy with her beautiful collaged plate creation!

Everyone's beautiful plates together!

We had dinner by the pool and really enjoyed getting to know one another better. I didn't feel my best this weekend but being with these girls made me forget all about it!!! This pretty much covers Friday's activities and tomorrow I'll share more about what we did Saturday!

Aren't you amazed how these blogs of ours bring us together? I told Tammy that if we didn't have our blogs we would have never met one another and enjoyed such a special weekend together!

Thank you so much Tammy again for including me and I have to tell you what an honor and pleasure it has been to meet each and every one of you precious women.....

Wishing you a wonderful Monday sweet friends!!
xxoo, Dawn

Tammy has caught on to something pretty wonderful. Does she host these crafting sessions often? Such a great room and the entire concept of women gathering to create is so cool. I knew that you all would have a fun time.

(I hope that you have the chance to rest and feel better today.)

Tammy sounds like a wonderful person....reminds me of a quote about friends:
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when she discovers that someone else believes in her and is willing to trust her with her friendship. `Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dearest Dawn,

My heart is filled with joy! Meeting you and getting to know you was just wonderful. I have always admired you as an artist, but it doesn't compare to how I admire you as a warm-hearted, caring woman and mother. I am truly blessed to know you and to call you my friend!
You are so welcome for everything and I thank you for being a part of my special weekend. Hugs to you and your family.

See you soon.

Love,
Tammy

What a delight it was to meet you in person at Tammy's Girls' Weekend. I always visit your blog, but haven't been able to leave you comments. Tam's trying to change that for me. Thank you for a delightful project lesson. I so enjoyed your company. Say, "Hi" to Noah and am happy he's doing so well. Enjoy your wonderful family and keep on creating. Love, Ruth

Sounds like an amazing weekend. Your class looks like it was a lot of fun, all those plates are beautiful. On a personal note, I can't get over the top book in your picture of supplies...my grandmother's maiden name was Marjorie Dean, how funny is that??

Well, I've just been getting caught up again--can't believe it's been so long since I visited your blog--I've been reading every one of your recent posts, and I missed the whole situation with your son Noah--I am so glad he's doing well now. Oh, how I remember some of the accidents my own kids had--it still makes my heart skip a beat, all these years later. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Dawn.

I understand about gathering and how you know each other through your crativity. Thank you for sharing this special time you had. And everything looked so pretty and fun.

I am missing my Magazines...Arney is having surgery on his knee Wed. and even with really good insurance we will have alot of money going out and little coming in. I was looking at the new Artful Blogging you posted and it made me think of what I was missing. It will make them more meaningful when I can get back in the mix. Your, Mary
