Well, I didn't work on the canvas today....some days just end up that way, don't they? You want so bad to be creative with artwork but it just doesn't happen.
And that's OK...
What I DID do?....take care of my sweet Noah, talk to several dear friends on the telephone, cook a good meal for my family, give Noah a fresh haircut, hold Clara and love on her while Emily did a few things in the evening.....and POOF! the day was gone ~ But for me to realize that even though I didn't actually create artwork in my studio, I was still creative, helpful and useful to my precious family
is such a good thing ~
Happy Thursday sweet friends,
xxoo, Dawn

You were creating the art of family.
Days like today it is okay, just being...holding that baby is an art in itself. I keep telling myself when I am with my grandbabies that "I am making their memories"...enjoy creating your family memories....sharon
Dawn, I always appreciate your words so much.
I am having hard time being creative or productive right now.
My heart is sad over the loss of a couple of friends. I've been struggling to create, and trying to draw myself out of this funk, but to no avail.
I finally saw today that i just need to let myself feel sad about the loss. As long as I try to stop from feeling the pain, I also stop the joy from happening. Feel the sorrow, then move on to the joy.
He will turn my mourning into dancing, in His time, and His way.
That's His promise.
Blessings,
Barbara Jean
PS love the cheesecloth, twine, and sticks along the edge of your bird poster.
Dawn dearest, I guess that nursing ones family, caring to help, and being there for them, and friends , are the most importent and sweetest way of being creative.
Love to you, with very big hug.

This post really has touched me. Thank you. There are days when I don't achieve what I set out to do and I end up feeling like I failed, but I shouldn't look at it that way. So, thank you.
Everyday is its own. Being with family and friends is the best!!!!! Kudos to you!!! Holding a baby, and caring for your son and friends are all precious moments and the true art in life:D Blessings, Gerri
Thank you for your special words, they really spoke to my heart as I get so involved sometimes in what I want to craft on, put other things on the back burner and then get impatient when those other things don't get done. Thank you for reminding me that taking care of my family and home is just as creative. Have a great day.

Oh Dawn, we all need those days to be replenished...It is frustrating when the creativity button may not be really 'on', but that is part of the whole process, I guess.
How is Noah doing? I bet Baby Clara is growing like a little weed...just precious!
Have a great Thursday...
Hugs,
Lynn♥
Sounds like a most perfect day.
I hope you have another.
Smiles,
Becky
Dawn, you were being creative, making life memories and sometimes that is the best creativity there is. Have a sweet day.
Yes those simple days of serving and caring with love -- so precious and to be enjoyed -Children grow so fast -- and while seeing them as wonderful vital adults ,we can be proud of --oh to hold them once again and get sweet baby kisses - Kathy - ga
Babies and children just don't keep so it's a good, good thing to take some time off to love on them. Besides holding a baby is the best stress reducer.
Dawn,
Thanks for sharing your day. Some days are just for loving and being. I know I get frustrated when I am not producing and moving forward, but need to stop, breathe, laugh, and enjoy the moments.
Hi Dawn , I appreciated this post , I have been feeling frustrated lately at the lack of 'painting time ' currently available with a 2 year old . But like you did, I am learning to just let some days just float on by..
tomorrow is another day...
Beautiful images , Thx
Even though you didn't get to your artwork it sounds like you had a lovely day anyways. Any day spent with family is a good day!
I love these botanical prints and your recent art piece with the birds... Roxanne
You are such a good Momma.. I love that about you.
And thank you for the fern art.. One of my favorite plants.
xoxo Nita <3
P.s I hope you have a beautiful day
I'm sure your family is so grateful to have you and that they all love you so much!
Oh, I know that "poof" feeling. I worked on Tammy's book on wednesday, and knocked out 2 pages. It cam togetehr so fast- I love when the creativity flows!
I've noticed that you keep mentioning that you are taking care of sweet Noah... Is he ill? What's going on? I hope all is well.
I'm happy you get to see sweet Clara often. What a blessing!

My mom always tells us we will have plenty of time to clean and create when the kids and grandkids are gone. I try to remember that and put what I am working on down and just hold them or play with them. The house can get picked up later and the project will still be there.
