A day trip to Savannah ~

Saturday morning all of us girls woke up early, I mean REALLY early (for me :) and headed to Savannah, Georgia for a day trip. Of course I dozed off and it seemed like a quick trip to me!! Sweet Judy drove wonderfully even though my head was bobbing all over the place ~

Savannah was beautiful, just as it always is. Warmish, not the hot, muggy weather that I've experienced in the middle of the summer. thank goodness. Our oldest son Brent graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a film major plus lived there several years afterward so we've visited before when it was very HOT.

We all took a sightseeing trolley ride around the city and you pay for the entire day, get off, visit what you want and wait for the next trolley to hop back on. They are making their rounds usually every fifteen minutes. Cool, huh?

We visited River Street and then had lunch at The Shrimp Factory which was delicious! Then we visited a most wonderful store, @home vintage general....I just LOVE this store! I ended up finding several goodies here and will be sure to share them later.....here are a few photos to give you an idea of what they have to offer....plus the owner has a blog HERE!

Here we all are with our bags of treasures!!! My sweet son David, who still lives in Savannah showed up here to give me a big ol' hug and took photos of the group for us too!

The next wonderful stop was The Paris Market & Brocante ~ another great store to see if you visit to Savannah. Their merchandise is always changing and ALWAYS interesting! They have a blog too, HERE ~

We stopped by Paula Deen's store and looked around too ~

We all had such a great time together....enjoying the city and of course, shopping!!! What an amazing weekend ~ and a wonderful memory! Thank you so much girls ~

Well, it's been two weeks today that Noah broke his leg and he's doing so good!! Tonight he can sleep without his brace on so that will be a great thing! Thank you all so much for your sweet thoughts, prayers and wishes for him ~ you're all such wonderful friends to me.....

Wishing you a great Tuesday sweet friends!
xxoo, Dawn

Nothing like a group of women on a shopping trip. Too bad you missed the first part. ;D

Yay for Noah and no brace. That's going to help him sleep so much better and we all know how healing sleep is.

Yup, I'm waiting to see what you gathered, too. If I'd been with you, I would've watched very closely and followed suit.

Oh we just went to Savannah two weeks ago for the very first time. I loved it so much. It's funny to look at your pictures and see the same sights we enjoyed. It's a great place. I'm trying to convince my son who is into theater that he needs to look into SCAD.

Hi Dawn,
Love your photos. Those shops are the kind I could browse in for hours! I'd love to see/visit Savannah sometime, preferably in the spring when it's not too hot.
Thanks for sharing, Deb

OMG, I wise I would have been with you in Savannah. I love Savannah GA. We use to live in Macon GA. We are back in Utah now, it's been 26 years. We go back as often as we can. I have never taken the bus tour though. There's so much to see on foot. I want to do the tour the next time we go. Be still my heart.

I grabbed your side bar name, and I will be back. I want to go into those stores in Savannah and I also want to visit your shop.

I'm headed out with hubby for breakfast.

I also want to visit you weight loss sight. I've lost 55 lbs.

Big Hugs
