Loving the unloved ~

I can't help myself.
In our home....I want to have so many beautiful things
no matter where your eyes fall.

I guess that's why I love collections....
crazy old things that have been forgotten by others,
nests that have been built by the most diligent bird,
something that someone else may have tossed out but that
I've found and brought into our home to give it a place of value.

I have a firm belief that to appreciate these cast offs is an honorable thing.
It shows a thankfulness and appreciation for all that has come before us.
No. I don't want my home to look like Hoarders
but to be selective...
and display these forgotten treasures
is golden to me.

Wishing you my dear friends,
a most wonderful Wednesday!!!!
Much love to you all,
Dawn

Oh I completely agree. I always love what I call the "orphans"...things others have passed over or forgotten. At silent auctions I only bid on all the items no one else has chosen as those are the "orphans". Your collections are true treasures. Charming dear...

The photo of Bernie and presumably his mother is beyond wonderful with the fresh laundry blowing in the breeze above them. Are those open fields beyond or the sea? I can't tell. It has beautiful composition, beautiful theme, and it is so unique. One doesn't often see candid scenes from that time of mother and child.

Dawn, if there were ever a studio I'd love to visit, it is yours. You and I collect and give new life to vintage and antique items but not before we enjoy them for a while. True?

You are an inspiration, this post spoke to my heart. xo Rhonda

It's all beautiful but the mom laying in the shadow of the clothesline is awesome as is the expression on the childs face!

Sigh, oh, my! You sure do talk my language, Dawn! I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your works of resurrected art. How I wish I had more time to devote to my own creations. As it is, I have boxes, bins, and bags full of "to do" projects in this same vein, and am always picking up the next little something that needs some looking after, but rarely have the time to artistically indulge. I shall have to live vicariously through The Feathered Nest! Joy!
