oh....my....goodness ~

Sweet friends...I've realized a little something.
I HAVE A LOT OF STUFF!!!
Yes, I admit it.
I'm so in love with beautiful things....
and after owning the antique store a few years back,
it was such a wonderful opportunity to gather ~
and if you read my blog at all,
You know that I DO love to do me some gathering!!!

So what am I up to now that the house is painted?
Packing up the stuff!!!
I'm trying so hard to weed through it  ~
what I don't keep will ending up in our trusty antique space
This is when you are so thankful to have that outlet, you know?

My sweet hand-painted china cabinet!
I married the top to the antique bottom and painted them both....
I'm linking up with Jen's Painted Pieces Party with this baby :)

Wanna come pack with me?

I hope you're having more fun than I am!!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dear Dawn,oh sweet, packing is realy the hard thing about moowing, -but having to take every bit and pieces in your hands, you get to enjoy all the things, your eyes did not "see" in your everyday life, ----isn`t it fun, that lots of beautifull things will soon have a new place,-and home ?
What is that fantastic dryed flower in the cone?it is extremly beautifull.

I hate packing! But I always find it useful, you start throwing away stuff you should have throw or give away years ago!

Hi Dawn!
I'll be right over to help on one stipulation.....that I get to keep everything that I like, I'll even bring my own packing material! LOL!

I do feel your pain. We had our house sold last year at this time and the buyers backed out two days before closing! The moving van was sitting in front of our house and everything in the house was packed! It was devastating to say the least.

I'm so excited for you. Keep the photos coming.

hugs
Sissie

Oh I hear you...the purging of beloved things is not too pleasant. My grandmother, at least, took great joy in giving them to her grands and great-grands. It does help to have the shop to sell them in...does it comfort at all to know that someone will treasure them as much as you do? I'd be there in a sec if you lived next door! ;>

I don't envy you one bit..I just went through that! None of my stuff was as precious as yours though, Salvation Army was glad to take it off my hands. Press on, sista!

Dawn, congrats on your lovely farm house. You are the 4th person I know that is going thru the process of moving. It's a wake up call when you realize the amount of stuff we can accumulate. We loved a lot, that is how I explained it to myself and the people that helped me pack. I'm still going thru moving my shop and yesterday I did what I swore I never will, got a storage for the stuff I will need in the store later. It is exciting and will be all worth it when all the beautiful things are put together and you can sit and enjoy the fruit of your labor. Enjoy it and be blessed, Marta.

Dear Dawn, With just a little move from room to room I found things I forgot I had! Think of all the treasures you'll unearth, and think of the beauty your new home will hold with all your wonderful stuff. Wish I lived close to you. So many of us would love to spend some time helping you, but we're with you in spirit! Love, Penny

I hear ya! It would be a scary thing indeed if I had to try to move right now...but I also think it would force some paring down and that would be so freeing! Are you going to a smaller or bigger house?
Have a great :) day!

You've got some gorgeous pieces there, Dawn! Would it be worth putting some of the smaller items in your online boutique, too? Last year we had a dumpster as we got our house prepped for sale. We took it off the market before the holidays but I want to go back on after the holidays this year. I'm hoping I didn't bring the same amount of stuff we got rid of back in over the course of the year!

You do have a lot of beautiful things! I love your dishes; they are really lovely. Packing isn't fun, and un-packing can be a chore too, but finding new places for things breathes new life into them and that is fun! Have a great day today!

You really have an eye for the wonderful, vintage, and inspiring. There are many of us holding our hands (er boxes) out for anything you feel you just can't find room for, LOL. If a blog friend packs a virtual box for you does it really get moved? hmmmm....

The question is... will your new country ome hold all this stuff... If not it is just as simple as keeping the best of the best...Have fun....

LOL! Dawn, at the end of every packing day you are going to need a long, hot soak!

Now, on the other hand, for all of that "stuff" that's going to end up in your shop, this is when we all wished we lived near you because you've got good taste!

Have fun!! I know you already are. And you WILL deserve that hot soak, girlfriend!

Hugs, Diane

Dawn, I agree - packing stinks! Here's the motivation though.....once you've packed it and moved it to your beautiful new farm house.....you get to DECORATE!!!!! Remember that as you trudge through this chore, it will make it easier!!

I also wanted to laugh with you regarding the amount of stuff.....I look around at all I've gathered over the years of selling antiques and vintage stuff.....oh dear......Romeo should never have a problem talking about old stuff ;)

Remember....decorating will come soon!

Deborah and Romeo
