I'm a contributing editor!!

Sounds kind of fancy, doesn't it?!
Rather than having a tutorial this time,
I'm going to be a contributing editor for the April Artist Class!!
Sharing tips, tricks....ideas and other goodies that will be extras
for this new Artist Class Garden Party ~
(you can register here!)

There are so many wonderful projects offered ~
And just remember too....
that even though a project may not be your "style"
You can use the techniques learned and
find out the supplies that are used
and put your own spin on the project,
using colors and papers that are "you"!

If you like to read more about the projects offered
Mention
thefeatherednest
when you register
and receive 10.00 OFF!!!

So what have I been up to, other than battling this cold thing....?
Still getting a few more things together for Clara's little party ~
and I just finished making a pair of the most precious pink curtains
for her bedroom! I used an old bedspread too!
Here they are all ready to hang ~ you can't tell very much
about them but I'll be sure to take a photo after they're up.

See this sweet angel??
See the adorable head band that Kim of Fille de Fleur made for little Clara?

I was inspired to make one just for her birthday!!
I found the elastic band material at Hobby Lobby and it
is sold by the yard. So...I bought a few yards. (So I can make more!)
Next, I found a gorgeous silk gerbera daisy in the perfect shade of pink.
I pulled it from the stem, and took the green back off.
What was left was the yellow center's green stem poking
through all of the petal layers.
I pulled it out, keeping all of the petals in place.

I stitched the two ends together of the elastic band.
(I used Kim's headband to measure off how much
because it fit perfectly!)

Next, I stitched all of the petals together so they would stay put.
It was really easy to stitch through all of the layers.

Then I sewed the flower onto the elastic band right over the seam
where I'd sewn the ends together to hide it.
I snipped off the green stem as close to the back as I could.

Then using my all time fav glue Fabri-tac....
I glued the yellow center right back where it belonged!

Here is the precious shirt I found at Carter's Outlet....
to go with her soon-to-be-made light pink tutu!
The colors of the photo below are a little off ~ but you get the idea...
And a sweet pair of sandals I found at Marshall's!!!

I hope you don't mind letting me gush about this....
I really can't help myself!!!

I hope you have a great Thursday precious friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dawn,
She is the cutest little girl ever, I just love her profile. Oh, and how you created the headband and matched it to this little outfit. How cut is this? Gee I wish they had blogs when my girls were little. I am a century away from being a Grandmother (I had my girls after 40), but I can dream.

Oh Dawn...please, gush away. She is adorable and so are all the fantastic little "pink things" that you've made for her. I especially love the curtains. How wonderful to "recycle" an old bedspread to make curtains. I love the idea of no waste.

If anyone is interested, I'm having an "All things rabbity and Eastery" give-away on my blog. All you have to do is leave a comment.

Thanks so much:

Oh, Dawn, how very precious! I love the whole outfit and would love to see pictures of her for her birthday. I can not believe it is already one year ago. That precious package has changed your life forever! I loved dressing up my grand daughters but they are too old now and I miss that time. Enjoy every single moment and share every experience. It is your priviledge and our pleasures.
