Halfway there ~

There's something so relaxing about creating artwork. Music plays softly in the background of my little crowded artroom, piles of beautiful images surround me, sheet music, old books . . . it's truly like playing. I move the images around, changing their arrangement, tilt my head and squint my eyes to see how I like the composition. These are simple pages in the nature journal, not many images but the simplicity gives what is there a sense of importance.

I love the ruggedness that's happening with it as well. When you are someone bent on perfection, rugged can be hard! Earthy, not perfect, but all the same wonderful. Just like nature ~

I'm halfway finished with this journal. I wanted to show you my progress so far . . . and it all started with several pieces of paper and two pieces of cardboard ~

What lies behind us and what lies before us
are tiny matters compared to
what lies within us.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday!
xxoo, Dawn

Once again you have make a lovely book. You share so much of your talents withe others. I was taking a sewing class last night on couching and the teacher would not let me take a photo of something whe was teaching us to do. I think she thought I was going to steal her idea. At that moment I thought of you and how much you have shared with me and others. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. You have touched my heart!Have a lovely weekend. It's my older son's senior homecoming and he's on the court so I'm off to the pep rally at school today. It's going to be a great weekend!Blessings...Sherry

Beautiful work. Isn't it wonderful to be able to create and to have the freedom to do so? Music, paper, glue and your mind is set free to dream and your hands to put those dreams into reality.

I think this journal is so beautiful Dawn, and I appreciate all that you share here. I agree with your post up above, that sharing helps us all to grow. I'm still a novice when it comes to collage, so I really appreciate learning from others. There is so much to gather and learn in this particular medium. It takes awhile, I'm learning.

Your living room is so pretty. I love the neutral pallette of it. I also love the nature journal. Will it be available for purchase when you finish it? I have a friend who would love it for her birthday! I always love to see what creative masterpiece you have made. Thanks for sharing them with all of us!

SWEET!
I love to make journals...I rarely keep them for myself...I would never be able to let this one go~
I have had fun with the plain paper journals made by "Moleskine." They have craft paper covers, ivory pages. Saves me a little time when I feel like designing~ but only have a "little time." I find them in packages of three at Barnes & Noble.

Love it!
Thanks for sharing~
