Almost here . . .

It's funny how fast time flies. I remember as young as four years old, my mama and daddy... and us having the most wonderful Christmas' with my grandparents...my little brothers being born...moving to the greatest neighborhood ever....meeting my future husband and so many other sweet neighborhood kids....and in the blink of an eye ~ I'm a married woman myself! At the tender age of 19 and my husband 21. My parents became grandparents at just 42 years old!!! I wanted babies for as long as I could remember so, that was definitely the plan ~

But back to my sweet mom and dad! I think I got a little carried away there...it's finally almost here. It's their fiftieth wedding anniversary!!! Friday is really their anniversary but we are having the party Saturday so friends and family can all be there. It will be a simple gathering.
A giant cake and plenty of wonderful finger foods
but the best thing of all, will be seeing so many sweet people,
friends and family, that love my mom and dad.

I finished the cake topper and wanted to share it with you ~

A little styrofoam, some beautiful trim and of course my fave glue
Fabritac....

Yes, I'm such a goob, I bought CLOCK numbers for their topper!
I couldn't find any other gold ones though and these worked out great ~

My mom and dad love music and listened to it all the time
while we were growing up...
I have tons of memories and so many songs remind me of my
childhood because of this!

Here is "their" song for you to enjoy ~

And here's another song I remember them listening to over and over again...
I just love it too!!!

Have a great Wednesday sweet friends!!!
hugs and love to you,
Dawn

Dawn - You are going to have the best time ever! What makes it even better are your sweet memories. What would we do without them? I love the picture at the top. Even at that tender age, she appears to hold back as he plunges forward in innocent abandon. Absolutely precious! Have a wonderful party. Looking forward to the pictures you will share.

My congratulations to your parents on their 50th. We celebrated ours last summer. You did an absolutely beautiful job on the cake topper. All eyes will be on that.

Thanks for the Johnny Mathis song - it is one of my favorites also. I turned it up and went over and gave my guy a kiss.

My parents hit their 50th in 2006 and we had a wonderful time celebrating their life and legacy at their party. I hope you will have a glorious time all together and make even more memories to add to the treasure box of your heart! Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy all the guests :o)

And BTW, I could just dive into your fabric stash and live there...awesome! Happy upcoming sewing...it's always a kick to see your incredible creations!

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH FABRIC DAWN ????
You use every bit of it eventually I bet.
CONGRATULATIONS to your parents.

Oh my word....sitting here listening with tears of loving remberance for my fist TRUE LOVE ....
( over 55 years ago ) This was just one of the many songs by Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra and Nate King Cole associated with our five year romance. "Too Young" was the other favorite by King Cole.

I did not marry him...but will NEVER forget how much in love I was... back when these songs came out.
SIGH......

But am now married to Mr. Wonderful for the past 42 years.
Love,

Rose
