What's making me swoon right now?

I would rather have a pile of tattered, old, stained lace and trims
than rubies and diamonds.....

What's even crazier?
I'll want to hoard this pile and stare at it all the time.....
I know, I need help.

hugs and love,
Dawn

Me too! I would a thousand times rather have your pile of gems! And if it does not look old ~ well then, how about a $1.00 jar of instant coffee (YES ~ $1.00 instant PAMPA coffee bought at Walmart that will NEVER touch my lips)to make up for what age doesn't! I am watching it do it's magic right now :-) Diamonds ARE NOT this girl's best friend - now....$1.00 instant coffee, maybe.

I'm right there with you on the swooning. My friends and family always seem surprised when I find joy in something old and useless to them. Gorgeous stuff!

You only need help if the rest of us do, I adore those wonderful aged things. I got a huge pile of old sheet music that was all perfectly aged to those colors, this week at a thrift store. Love it!

I love vintage lace and buttons! You have some lovely ones. I could sit and stare at it, too! I don't like using my laces in my collages because I worry I won't find more to replace it! I'm a bit crazy, too!

I'm right there with you Dawn ~ hoarding and staring. Why ever do we do that!? : )
I love the connection to the past we get with these treasures...not to mention how beautiful they look together. Much better than glitter and glitz anyday!

I am so right there with you. Oh my goodness! This is all so fabulous. I do the same with my stash of laces and doilies. I can't get enough. I just put the first photo as my desktop background. Great minds think alike!

I tell my darling husband that all the time...this is how it goes...Him: What are you going to do with all that junk you bought? Me: Be quiet. I could like jewelry instead of other people's trash! lol He likes to tease but the whole family can spot something vintage, tarnished, tattered a mile away now for me. Have a great weekend, Dawn. I'm going junking!

Dawn, I always want to keep all the 'treasures' I find too.
I now have more loot than I could get made into anything if I worked/played a thousand years.
(think we will get to create in Heaven?) =)

Love how you put together such lovely vignettes for your photos. I need to work on that.

Well, Dawn, if you need help because you just want to keep those wonderful objects to look at...then so would I! I find those objects SO beautiful and appealing, I would treasure them more than jewels, as well! :)

I totally agree! I'm not a jewels type gal either. I do like pearls though! ;-)

Dawn,
I feel just the same as you about old lace, except that I must touch, too. My daughter and husband came home with a big bo for me, one day that I wasn't feeling well and missed an estate sale. Best gift of my life. I am trying to use and share and not hoard! It's a challenge!

Hugs,
Suz
