A precious gift and Martha's pom poms

Baby Clara received the most wonderful package in the mail today!!! A gorgeous handmade bunny from Nancy, a sweet reader of the blog! Just look at how adorable this bunny is!!

Nancy emailed me a few weeks ago about the colors that Emily loves and I told her, not knowing this is what she had in mind. She used beautiful chenille fabrics and vintage linens to create this one-of-a-kind treasure ~

Dear Nancy, please know that this will be a special keepsake for Clara and thank you so, so very much ~ from Emily, Brent, and myself as well!

Remember the pom poms that I found on Martha's wedding website? You can find the directions HERE. Well, I gave them a try today and I LOVE THIS PROJECT!!!! What an amazing bang for the buck!!! You just have to be very gentle when pulling each sheet of tissue out when you are fluffing it but don't you just love it?? I want to hang them at the shower I think ~ we'll see!

I'm so excited ~ my dear friend Tammy is giving me fresh flowers to arrange in the baby planters!! She owns a florist and know just what flowers I should use ~ so wish me luck on arranging them....she's swamped with Valentine's day but is so kind to give us the flowers as a gift! Thank you Tammy!

You'd think this was the social event of the season the way I'm carrying on but I just want to share with you my excitement and all that I wanted to do for this special baby shower.
Thank you all so much for cheering me on!!

Wishing a very happy Tuesday sweet friends,
xxoo, Dawn

Hi Dawn... The bunny is precious. The baby is going to be one lucky little girl to be blessed with parents that will give her the love and support and a grandparents that will cherish her.... When you think of all the children who will never recieve or have that in their lifeshe will be truly blessed.

Wow - I love the bunny. I'd love one for myself :) Alissa Rose (my cutie patootie on the pink bench) has never been big on stuffed animals. But she definitely has a shoe fetish! :)

The bunny is wonderful and such an excellent job. Something Emily will treasure. The pom poms are so unique, I love them. This is one of the biggest social events for you, your FIRST GRANDCHILD that's BIG for every grandmother. So glad you are making pictures and sharing them with us. Take all these pictures and make an album for Baby Clara for when she grows up. Let her see how much you treasured her coming.
Have a wonderful day.
Smiles,
Pat

That bunny is SO dear! I love the mix of fabrics and to have the cross stitch bunny on the tummy--too wonderful. Hobnail and chenille give it an heirloom feel. Nancy has made a treasure.

A grandchild should be a big social event...the first one...the biggest! I know it will be a lovely festive affair. Well over 50 years ago, I learned to make "flowers" from Kleenex tissue. Exactly the same process as the pom poms...only we didn't round the edges and we used a bobby pin to secure the middle of the flower. LOL I hadn't thought of that in a very long time. I look forward to trying some of the lovely colors of tissue paper...maybe a spring garland. Thank you for sharing.
Blessings, Susie

Everything you have done for the shower is just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us. My Daughter is getting married in July and I love the pom pom's from Martha's site, I plan on making some of them for her Bridal shower. Good luck this week end.
