New friends & kindred spirits....
they inspire me to create!

I've come to realize that artists absolutely love artwork ~ not so much their own but other artist's artwork....especially if it's so very close to their own tastes, or even something that they might even create themselves....

Today I received a precious parcel in the mail, a thank you gift from my friend Marcie at The Rustic Victorian. When I opened my package, peeled back the wonderful brown tissue and saw what she sent me, my heart soared!!!!

Our tastes are so very similar ~ she so knows what I love and created a precious velvet egg that houses a wonderful old tassel with a bird image. Text lines the walls of the egg and the most amazing little vine frames the opening. It even has a little crocheted hanger!! I was studying the egg and peeking at all of the detail then I lifted the tassel and saw a most wonderful thing....my initial was in the very back of the egg! What a sweet surprise...

Then I opened the little bundle with the key on the front....look what it held ~ embellished spools that Marcie made with lace, twine and fiber on them!!

The back of the egg...just gorgeous ~

Even her tag ~

Marcie is an amazing artist if you want to check out her blog HERE. Thank you so very much Marcie for these wonderful art gifts ~
I just love them all and will treasure them always!!

Marcie recently introduced me to one of her friends as well, Coleen (or Queenie) that has just started her blog, Coleen's Reflections....she makes the most precious fairies!
Please stop by and welcome her to blogland ~

Emily brought this feather in to me the other day ~ she knew I would love it.....it's so wonderful to stop and see the beauty in such a simple thing as a single feather ~

Wishing you a great Thursday sweet friends!
xxoo, Dawn

Dawn, Those gifts are so pretty.

I hope that you are doing well. I was sick for a long time. Boy, getting caught up afterwards has been no treat. It's like trying to jump onto a merry-go-round while it's already moving! Whew!

I have something to mail to you. I will get it in the mail tomorrow .
God bless,
Elizabeth

Hi Dawn. I've had your site in my favourites since I started my own blog in December last year, but tonight I finally took the time to have a proper look at your blog, and I'm so overwhelmed by everything on it! Even the ads excite me! :)
When I look at projects in mags such as Somerset Studio, and now your work as well, I find it so hard to explain how I feel. I get a feeling of such longing inside me, and I wonder if I'll ever get to that place. The lovely music on here isn't helping the emotions either! :) I'm starting to get a bit mushy now!! :)
Anyway, thank you for this look into your world and your work...which is beautiful.

Would you mind if I used something you have said, on my site as an inspirational quote, credited to you?

Hello,Mizz Dawn,,
I just want to thank you for being a friend, a mentor, encourager, I couldn't have had a blog without you.Doors are opening.
The tag was made by Tiffany Jane, I just added more glitter to the edge of the note.
Thank you for mentioning Queenie, she is amazing.
I can't wait to see what magic you come up with next.
A big hug!
Marcie

Dawn,
What an incredibly beautiful gift, or gifts! That velvet egg is just stunning, and I LOVE her spools! Even the way she wrapped the spools is just beautiful! You are so blessed to have many wonderful and generous friends. I always love coming to your blog...I have many I follow, but yours is one of the handful that I check every day. Always so inspirational!

Oh it must be fun to get the mail each day for it often contains the most wonderful gifts. Marcie's work is lovely in its detail.

And it must also be a delight to be able to gift you with the simplest of things as Emily did.
