Sunday we headed out to Scott's Antique Market. It was cool, a little breezy and just perfect weather to me!! There were so many wonderful things ~ I took a few photos to give you an idea of all the treasures they had......
Look at the pair of pugs....just watching the shoppers walk by!
Here is my little pile of treasures that I found....the SWEETEST little baby doll ever, and another little china doll and a few pieces as well, a couple of old books, one is so cool with crafts from the 40s, door plates, an old ruler, frames for me to take apart and use, and these most wonderful huge acorns!!! Have you ever seen acorns this large?? What tree do you think they came from? I just had to have a bag ~ I don't know what I'm going to do with them but they are just so cool!

And last but not least, a sweet set of curtains made from beautiful roses fabric ~

you are right Dawn, that looks like an amazing field trip...you sure found some good stuff...i love those little dolls...the acorns are incredible...the tree they came from must have been on steroids...hee hee!!!

Thanks for sharing your field trip with us Dawn! Love the photos...looks like a wonderful way to spend the day. The acorns are probably from a Bur Oak...they produce the biggest ones. I've seen angels made with the acorn upside down for the head and the rest made of corn shucks. I have used only the cap and created bird nest ornaments that hung like buckets with ribbon bails with tiny Sculpy eggs, moss, and birds from the florist. Can't wait to see what you do with yours!

Hi Dawn-I cried when I saw your post-just discovered your blog yesterday & feel like I have met kindred spirits...love all things nature-birds,nests,bees,flowers,all kinds of acorns,& pastoral pics,esp with SHEEP...live in the Atl area too! Your blog is so lovely & the music so peaceful & nurturing-like a gift to the soul...the sun is shining this morn & Spring's arrival seems close at hand-the cardinals have stopped travelling in packs & are starting to act more territorial so I know it can't be far away,thank goodness!

what a lotta loot!!! a perfect way to spend the day..in time and money..hee-hee!! those are some serious acorns...I met a lady on a doll list that sent me a box full of those biggies for my faeries...they love to sip their acorn tea out of them!!

The little baby doll in the sleeper looks like a Madame Alexander doll called Little Huggums. I have one that belonged to my 32 year old son when he was a baby!

These are my favorite kind of field trips, too. I'm so ready for the outdoor auctions and flea markets to return.
I'm definitely not a shopping mall kind of person. I'd rather be out there in the Lord's light treasure hunting through piles of old things . . . things with a past that whisper to draw you in . . . things that have touched many hands and lives and whose histories you can only wonder about . . . things that plead for you to rescue them and give them a good home like a puppy at the pound might.

Oh my, what wonderful treasures. I loved all the old urns and garden items. We don't have many outdoor markets here. Lovely to be able to enjoy some fresh air while browsing.

Such great finds! I wish we had more mild weather, I'd haunt flea markets all the time!
I wanted to mention, the purse pattern is just like the one my mom makes for our "Tall Stacks" adventure. We all dress is victorian costume and head out to see the steam boats. It's an easy peasy pattern, great for scrap fabric.
