A few posting ideas for you ~

So you've started your blog and today you weren't especially productive. What do you post about? You may have folded a couple of loads of laundry or stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few things but you realize you don't need to take photos of your folded clothes or canned goods just to have something to blog about!

When I have those days, and believe me I do......here are a few things that come to mind that I've done in the past....because you KNOW I love posting and sharing things with you!

1 ~ Walk around your home and take photos of things that you just love. A special display or item that means alot to you.....we learn so much about one another by doing that.

2 ~ This is along those same lines, take a few photos of items that you collect. Group everything together in a pretty display to show your readers.

3 ~ Share beautiful images that you may have on hand that you could scan in (if you have a scanner) or that you've found that are OK to share with others. We all love having new goodies to use in our artwork.

4 ~ Share a few beautiful websites that you've found while surfing the internet. A fun way to find sites is to go to Google.com and click on images.....then search for a couple of key words that you may like. The other day I just keyed in "antique cream" and found so many beautiful websites!! Be sure to provide a link back to the site too.

5 ~ Post a pretty poem or quote that you love with a photograph that you've taken or even an old image.

6 ~ Recipes are always a great thing to post about. Do you have a tried and true recipe that everyone requests when you come to a covered dish gathering? Share that with your readers and they will love to try it!

7 ~ Take a few photos showing us how you make something that you enjoy creating, share this little tutorial with your readers.

8 ~ If you create artwork, share a product that you love using....or if you have another item that you are a die-hard fan for that you use to clean, cook or something else, share it with us.

I hope this helps give you a few ideas on posting.....I've been cleaning my art room and took Emily to her OB appointment today. I didn't get much accomplished creatively but still love talking to you! Think of it this way, if you were to pick up the phone to talk to a sweet friend, what would you enjoy sharing?

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends ~

xxoo, Dawn

That was so thoughtful of you ~ making all these great suggestions for blog posts.
I'm sure many will find it useful ~ no matter how long they've had a blog!

Oh you know I HAVE to learn how to do that bird. I'm doing a babyshower with a bird/nest theme to it and that would be perfect to make for the shower!

Hugs,
Joanne

Love that bird, and so loving that color right now. Spring must be coming!! =0)

Would love to learn how to make the bird. May be easier than cutting them out of wood, sanding them, and painting them like I'm doing now.

Will look forward to seeing the tutorial, and grateful for your sharing.

Blessings,
Barbara Jean

PS. I got a sweater at the thrift store which i tore apart and use for bird nest filler. Just an idea to share.

Thank you so much for posting those blog ideas. Now that I finally started one, I'm always at a loss as to what to blog about. I keep thinking "no one wants to know about that!". I've got to get my camera out!!!

Hi Dawn
Thanks for all the tips! It will absolutely help me out. I love blogging but some days with everything else...gets crazy. I love the bird nest. I know I'm thinking a little ahead but how adorable for Mother's Day! Mom's nest is empty now, but I know she would love a reminder that she still has her "little chickens" (as she calls us.) :)

Thank you from one who has posted about her laundry and what she purchased at the store ... LOL! (I'm not posting today. Nothing on my mind whatsoever. Lovely things? Some days I just don't see the lovely things.)

Great ideas Dawn, as always! I really do appreciate each one, especially as a new blogger.
Those little booties are the same pattern that I use for my thread booties, that I just posted a couple of days ago...
Thanks again for everything..

You know I love your paperclay items. I had bought me some a while back but didn't use it and then I was working on my February ornaments and I needed a real small bird egg- ta da- paperclay. It turned out so cute. I'll be posting them soon. Joy
