Speckled egg charms, bunny fluff & beautiful postcards ~

I started working on three little egg charms that will adorn "little bird girl" dresses ~ I'm a little rusty with the soldering but got a little better the more I did. Thank goodness the "look" I'm going for is rustic! BTW, I use microscope slides for these charms....I cut them in half! Not an easy task either but I'm trying to get better at it :) I found these two boxes on ebay....

When I went outside today look at this sweet little tuft of bunny hair that I found! I couldn't resist it....I know, I'm crazy :) I just hope the rabbit wasn't hurt while losing it!

I keep my soldering supplies in a small suitcase in my studio. I still can't believe I'm calling it a studio but oh well, it just sounds so "official".... but back to the suitcase, it keeps all the items together and works really well. I have a box of beautiful old postcards that I've been collecting as I love to make color copies of them and sandwich them between two pieces of glass then solder around. I just had to share some with you!!!
Please click these to enlarge, then right click to save to your own computer. You can frame the copies that you print out or use in your artwork ~

You all are so wonderful ~
have a great Tuesday sweet friends,

xxoo, Dawn

I've been working on doing some jewlery with small pieces of glass. But I haven't found some company who has small squares of thin glass that I can use. I noticed that you have alot of glass in your pieces. Do you cut your own glass or have them cut. If you have any suggestions please contact me @robynsnest13@yahoo.com. Love your blog.Robyn

I am really wanting to get into the jewlery making. Still need supplies. One of these days. Your charms are just so darn cute. I am also a lover of bird things. Could be because of my name I guess. I am looking for Robin things to work into my studio.
Thanks for the post cards to use...what great ideas you always have. Cyber Hugs, R' Robin

Dawn,
I am the lucky owner of one of your soldered pieces and I enjoy it everyday as it hangs on the knob of an old cupboard! I love it!!!

I so want to learn this art form. I bought Pretty Little Things for some inspiration and my husband has been seeking out a soldering iron with a temp. control and interchangeable tips for me. I have many of the supplies as my brother-in-law used to do stained glass and he gave me tons of his supplies when he moved.

Do you have any tips for beginners?

Happy soldering!

It's me again, I have an idea, how about a tutorial on your little nest blog? I'd be first in line to buy one! Just something to think about!

Whenever, I visit you, I browse around and I always feel such a sweetness and peace. I think that I could see you having a studio in the Lake district with Beatrix Potter. I love the way you showed the charm designs. I have been wanting to do this with my artwork but didn't know quite how to, thank you I will try. I just have to learn how to do the edges.

Thank you for the postcards too.

Vicki is right. This is the time of year when female rabbits pull out their own fur to line their nests(warrens). They're fluffing it up for their babies on the way!

BTW - I love your blog!
