I dropped by Nancy's blog, Fete et Fleur, today and read about the fabric square that she had just finished for "the pink artist" project. I had been wanting to know more about this and Nancy provided a link to Monica's blog to read more about it.
Monica is sponsoring this wonderful art doll benefit to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation to help find a cure for breast cancer.
I knew I just had to be a part of this!
This is what a pink artist is:
"The Pink Artist" is a community of artists joining together to create one joint art doll to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. When the doll is complete, it will be mailed in to Art Doll Quarterly™ before finally being auctioned off on eBay at a later date.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL DIRECTLY BENEFIT CHARITY.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL DIRECTLY BENEFIT CHARITY.
We are to create one 2" x 2" square of artwork that has a fabric base so it can be sewn into an amazing dress displayed on the art doll that Monica is creating. We can make more than one square as a quilt will be made out of the excess but one is her initial request.
What a wonderful idea and project ~ and with so many amazing artists contributing . . . I am honored to be able to create a square of artwork for such a worthy cause!
