Hello sweet friends! I just had to post to let you know what I'm up to. I've started moving into my new room at The Plum Tree.
I've made some new curtains for the window in my room. It's really big and consists of two smaller windows on either side with a large window in the center.
Guess what I used for the fabric?? A giant canvas drop cloth from Lowes!! It was the biggest size they sell. I had purchased it a few years ago and even laundered it to make the fabric soft. I had planned on using it as slipcover fabric for my furniture but just bought a new sofa instead.
Anyway, girls, I just measured it out to have two panels and a long valance and ripped it!! Then I folded over the top of each curtain and sewed a couple of rows to create a rod pocket and small ruffle at the top for each panel. Then when I hung them up, I hammered in nails at the corners of each window. I threaded black wire through the rod pockets and then wrapped the ends around the nails.
I allowed the wire to swag ever so slightly from nail to nail for each curtain. I cut one piece of wire for each of the windows. I'll be sure and take some photos tomorrow for you . . . I'm sure this sounds totally confusing!
I will also be working on plenty of new projects to add to my Etsy store. I just have to get my room squared away then I'm going to get busy on the handmades!

Hi Dawn,
I always love your blog. I'm curious, where do you get all of your cute pictures/postcards that you use on your blog. Is there a free site for these or are they something you have had to purchase? They are just too cute.
Have fun decorating your new room at the store.

Hey Girl, I love reading what everyone writes. Just think I've known how creative you are since we were 13 and you held me down and plucked my eyebrows. You're still the same wonderful person. Your curtains look beautiful!
