To inspire ~

to exert an animating, enlivening, or exalting influence on ~

We had a wonderful weekend and so enjoyed our time with family at
DH's brother's home. I can't wait to show you a few photos too!

On our way home Sunday, we meandered around and found a few
antique malls and other spots to hunt for treasures.

Look at this gorgeous photograph I found for you!!!
I know the photographer went a little overboard with the blush
but I'm not quite knowledgeable enough in Photoshop
to tone it down.....

She Walks In Beauty

~ Lord Byron
~

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

There was one particular space in the first antique mall
we shopped in that was just gorgeous to me!!!
DH even said, "you have to see this space, you are going to love it."
I had to take tons of photos to share with you!!

It was so beautiful I didn't even notice
that it had pegboard walls...until I uploaded the photos.

Even though most of the items were quite expensive
I love looking at displays to get ideas ~
If you'd like, you can click on the photos to enlarge!!

I feel as though I've been away forever!!!
Wishing you a beautiful and inspired Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

I can totally understand you taking so many pictures in that booth ~ it's truly beautiful. The ballet shoe display is amazing. The linens, silver, tiny shoes and bobbins full of lace ~ I could look at these phtos forever!
The little baby doll is a Madame Alexander doll called Little Huggums. I have one of those that I bought for my 32 year old son when he was three. It's so sweet.

Thanks for sharing all the lovely pictures Dawn. Have a joy-filled week!!

Love that sweet photo--thanks for sharing it! And that's one of my favorite poems...just beautiful! I'm not surprised you didn't notice the peg board--it was overshadowed by so many beauties! Glad you had such a great time!

Dearest Dawn,

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos.

Lovin' the first photo, I had an ARTIST aunt who used to do exactly that type of painting on b/w or sepia photos...now she is in heaven...but her words rang in my ears "go-lightly with the paint, you can always add more if needed..."

I love the "toe shoe dress"

Were those dried rosebuds on the other dress form? I immmediately enlarged that photo to see if I could read the tag...always hunting for a price...

As usual you "inspire" me...Thank you!

Dawn, so beautiful! Hmmm....how do you suppose one would dust that lovely dried-flower-encrusted dress form? LOL! That from the person who dislikes dusting and normally doesn't even notice it! ;-)

Dawn, It made me smile to read that your DH pointed out that booth to you. How sweet that he really 'gets you'! That booth was incredible, I went to one of the few year round antique malls in northern KY this past week and it doesn't have anything that compares to that one.

Take care,
Angie

Oh how gorgeous!!! Look at all the lace and ballet shoes!!! And all the lace! LOL! I've found one antique mall here locally and I think there's another one listed in the phone book - you're a bad influence. :D (not really) Marva

Dawn, thanks for the lovely post. I always marvel at snowy white vintage linens and I'm also a fan of the ballet slipper displays, I don't think I've ever seen that before. Your photos inspire me to take a fresh look at my own booth display, I love the paper remnants on the walls!
Thanks for the inspiration, Susan

I can see why you liked this lovey Shades of White and Sepia booth. I found so many things I liked as well:
Lace draped from the form to the ceiling--so cool
Wadded papers in the glass container
Baby shoes and cabinet card on a child's chair with a hovering cherub
stacked sepia threads on tiered cake plates
Breathtaking!

Hope that you had a great time (even if it felt like forever ;>)! Now it surprises me that one who stages things as exquisitely as you do needs any inspiration whatsoever. But, you're right, that is a lovely space. She's done an excellent job.

Dawn,
Glad you had a good weekend, you deserve it girl! I can see why your drawn to that space. First thing that caught my eye were the little white moccasins, you didn't get them?? And that tatting, boy I need me some!! Love all the hanging ballet slippers, I'll bet she wanted a few pennies for those. When I was at Round Top in the fall, Magnolia Pearl did the most amazing display with faded pink ballet slippers. It was really something to see. I posted a pic way back when, I'll send it to you. Thanks for sharing such a cool space. Lisa
