I just thought FOR SURE
I would get back in my creative groove today.
"Thought" being the key word!
But I have to say...art goodies and supplies
always, always get me excited about creating!!!
I had to get out and get a few things we needed the other day
so it was the perfect opportunity
to swing by Hobby Lobby, Staples and Michael's for a quick check
to see if they had something that I was missing out on!
Here's what I came home with:
These rhinestone things are at Michael's and I LOVE THEM!
I know they will be gone soon as everything at Michael's usually is,
so I used a coupon and snagged another card ~
I found this glimmer mist stuff at Michael's too!
I'm not such a glittery girl but I had the girl at the checkout
put a little of this onto a piece of white paper and it looked like
coffee or strong tea ~ so I thought it would be great misted
onto a beautiful old photograph I printed out!
My fav glue stick from Hob Lob...the metal things are from Michael's ~
I want to corrode them more though ~ I love, love using these in my art!
I always use my slide cutter and needed a few new blades.
Did you know that Michael's were THREE dollars more than Hob Lob?
Good grief!
Another tidbit of info...
I take all of my used up printer cartridges to Staples and they
mail me coupons! I had a 10.00 off coupon and was able to get
my fav paper for FREE!!! I also love the 20 lb. (regular paper thickness)
This 67 lb. is not as thick as cardstock but I love printing images on it
when creating my artwork.
Hob Lob had tons of things that were 50% off
and I thought this little pack of stuff looked wonderful!
Here are the metal frames again ~
I need to corrode them a little, just have to figure out how again...
Here's the color of the Glimmer Mist!
When I cleaned out my studio a few months ago,
I noticed all of my metallic and gold paints had dried up so
I also restocked those for the upcoming Christmas season ~
I so love that Champagne shade!!!
And now for a baby update!!!
Emily has been having contractions 20 minutes apart...
she is dilated a full 3 and 60% effaced!
Sooooo...
I'm charging the camera battery right now 'cause
I'm thinking we will have a precious grandson really soon!!!
Wishing you a wonderful Friday and weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Wow! That was fun to do. Hope the baby is coming soon and everything is OK.

Hope to hear really soon there's a new baby boy coming home.
Love all your purchases.. I soooo wish there was a Hobby Lobby here.
We had a really nice craft store that moved out of town a couple of years ago... miss it. We do have Michael's, but I just don't think they keep up to well with their stock. They more often than not don't have the Tim Holtz item I'm looking for. Thank goodness for on line shopping.. even though it costs shipping.
Have a gooooood Friday.. and maybe wonderful news.
Thank you for giving us a closer look at your products list. I have a lot of my products based on what you've shared in the past.
Oh the excitement of waiting for a new baby!
Dawn I love all of the fun things that you got! I love to walk around craft stores and get all inspired :)
I can't wait to hear about the new baby!!!
hugs
Lori
Dawn: fingers crossed for a happy healthy newborn. I can FEEL your excitement all the way from Georgia to Maryland!!!
Nice haul you got there too.

Thanks a lot Dawn for making me want to go to Hobby Lobby for some of those goodies:) I haven't been there this week! Enjoy your day, can't wait for the new baby! HUGS!
Dawn, thank you so much for this supply post. I just have to have that mist, I'm going today to find it!
I use a mixture of bleach and vinegar in an old jar to rust my metal. Make sure you sandpaper your metal first, add it to the jar and viola...rust. Only takes a few hours in most cases.
You found some wonderful things, Dawn. It does get you excited to find new things, doesn't it?
Is it baby yet? xo Diana
Hi Dawn, I love some retail therapy...sometimes it's just the boost you need. There are a ton of tutorials on making your own glimmer mist. All you need is a mister bottle, water and metallic paint. I'm afraid that the girls at my Hob Lob think I've moved or passed away...It's been a while since I've shopped! Great finds Dawn. The baby will be here soon, it's the waiting that's so hard. Sending blessings to your dear DIL and whole beautiful family. Love, Penny
Fun supplies! I always love hitting the clearance section of Hobby Lobby.
Are you wanting a rusty look on the metal pieces? If so mist or soak them in an equal part mixture of either vinegar and water or lemon juice and water, the acidity in the juice or vinegar will activate the rust process. If you mist, wrap the item in plastic wrap to keep it moist. You can process for 24 hours up to one week depending on the amount of aging you want.
Have fun!
On my way to Hob Lob and I will certainly be BROKE by the day's end.
BLAH!
LOVE ALL YOU DO!

Your shopping trip was very successful and I can see lots of cool supplies to inspire your creativity. Good wishes for the mom and baby...Breathe, breathe, breathe
I expect that we'll be seeing pics of baby Murray and his proud mommy, daddy, and big sister by tomorrow morning (or as soon as you have a chance to post them!)! I can hardly wait!! My fingers are crossed for a speedy labor and delivery!
What a productive shopping excursion! I envy you the glimmer mist and the rhinestone charms/pins!
xoxo
Best of luck on the new baby coming. We just welcomed my 5th grandchild at 12:19 AM on the 4th.
You got some great supplies, Dawn. Love those rhinestones. I always say I'm going to be good and use what I've got before I buy more supplies, but then I go into Hobby Lobby and see these little embellishments.
How exciting to think your next post could be about the new baby's arrival!
Love all your finds, Dawn.
Exciting baby news!
xo

Oh Dawn,
Love your goodies! I have to get some of that glitter stuff, and those fibers! I live in NJ, and we just got a new Hobby Lobby nearby!! I was so excited, as there are none at all in our state.
Have fun playing with your new goodies!
Debbie
I was just at Michael's myself a few days ago..picked up a few crafty items while I was there as well. How excited you must be about the new baby about to arrive...can't wait to see his sweet face.
