STRAWBERRIES
There were never strawberries
like the ones we had
that sultry afternoon
sitting on the step
of the open french window
facing each other
your knees held in mine
the blue plates in our laps
the strawberries glistening
in the hot sunlight
we dipped them in sugar
looking at each other
not hurrying the feast
for one to come
the empty plates
laid on the stone together
with the two forks crossed
and I bent towards you
sweet in that air
in my arms
abandoned like a child
from your eager mouth
the taste of strawberries
in my memory
lean back again
let me love you
let the sun beat
on our forgetfulness
one hour of all
the heat intense
and summer lightning
on the Kilpatrick hills
let the storm wash the plates.

Such a wonderful poem.....
it so makes me smile ~
So....I've been needing a little more light in the studio, right?
I told you I wanted to make small canvas panels on this lamp shade but
I wanted it FASTER than that!
I had these amazing pins that I found at Michael's a while back that I
stashed away and finally used as tiny, little curtain rings.....
I tried to add a little interest to the front of the shade....
don't you just love this
wonderful homespun fabric?
I took a few photos of my studio for you....
photos that actually show more of the floor and the room ~
I don't know why my new lampshade looks kinda purple in this photo!!
I found these amazing sheets of moss at Dollar Tree the other day!!!!
I want to use them as a backdrop for a piece of artwork that will be
perfect for spring.....don't you just love them???
This is my hidden pile of whatever behind the door ~
So much goodness but quite a pile of stuff!
OH! and look! I gathered some of my fav cabinet cards and old photos
to display on the clippy stand ~ I just love it now!
Funny thing is....I still have box full of old photos that I don't
even have room to display :)
Wishing you the most wonderful Monday and always remember.....
YOU. ARE. LOVED!!!!
And you are so very precious,
hugs and love,
Dawn

I have a 2 sided clippy stand that I use on the sofa table and have a variety of family photos. They were made for photos. And it is easy to swap out. Happy to see you are back in the studio.
Love the moss sheets for a dollar! Happy Valentine's day :-)

I've never read that poem before and it is perfect for today.
No wonder such lovely things come from your creative place... it is beautiful.
Hope you're having a sweet Valentine's day.

Your studio is soooo yummy! Love what you did with all of the photos. Your lamp shade looks great.
Do you have any smelling salts tucked away in there...'cause darlin'...I think I got the vapors! Oh mylanta...what a treasure trove you have. Love it all...want it all!
The lampshade is genius and now I'm on the hunt for those little pins. I bought all of that moss that my Dollar Tree had...love it, although it does tend to want to break apart. But for a dollar...c'mon...who cares...right?
Happy Valentine's!
Deb
What a beautiful room - I think you need to come over and organize my whole house! I could never do that in a millin years! Now that your room is ready, can we expect more wonderful art from you?
WOW, great eye candy Dawn! I wish I could get into your room and "steal" about half of your stuff???? Love it, so cozy and homey. Thanks for sharing. Marcy
PS: Will you be coming to the GA Bloggers event on the 26th? Hope so.
What a sparkly studio! I am dazzled!
