Did you happen to notice this sweet little Ann doll from my studio post? Well, the other day I was browsing an antique mall that I used to sell in ~ I love Antique Griffin and always return to search for treasures. As I was strolling around this little doll caught my eye. She looked strangely familiar but I didn't know where I'd seen her before.
The primitive doll was priced pretty reasonably and I began to examine her......her body looked so much like a pattern that I had designed several years ago.....then as I pulled up her pieced dress, I saw my signature on her little belly!!!! Apparently a dealer in the mall had purchased her from me way back when and was letting her go again ~
I must have made her five to ten years ago and knew instantly that she should come back home with me ~ reside in my studio and inspire me.
It's always good to come home again ~
Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday sweet friends,
hugs and love, Dawn

Dawn, that is such a precious story! The same happened to me. Years ago, when we was beyond poor, I begged God to give me the ability to make something to bring in some money. I went out praying & driving around and saw builders throwing out wood scraps & a light went off! I piled the trunk full and went home & prayed. I drew out a snowman, cut some branches from our tree for the arms & used a pencil sharpener on a dowel, used up some old paint, I already had and sold over 300 of those snowmen!! All of the family chipped in.... My son, YEARS later went to a garage sale with his wife & saw MY snowman for sale. He told the lady that he had painted that very hat on that snowman! She thought he was crazy! Well, yes, he took it home and sent it to me with a card that told me he had such wonderful memories of painting "those dumb snowmen"! (Where there is a will there IS a way!) Blessings, dear creator, we truly are blessed! Sharon
Hello again dear friend,
It`s good to be back, even I sooo miss my little family, that just drove off, to return to their home.I KNOW EXATLY HOW YOU FEELS ABOUT SEEING YOUR SON, OFF TO 6 GRADE.
Dawn your little dress posted ,is so sweet and wonderfully done, looks fantastic what you did with the paper, in the frame, I love it.
And I love your soo sweet Ann doll, she is so darling sitting there next to the birdhouse.
As for little Clara moving to her own house, with mom,and dad, I know you will feel sad like I do now, but then again, it is not meant to be in this world, we are living in now, to be the whole family together, that close. You will get used to that big house again, sweetie.
Sending you love and hugs.

Last year, I painted a chair and then sold it at the shop downtown. A friend of mine was shopping in a neighboring town and saw it being used as a display. Well of course I wanted to see it so I went looking for it. Since I couldn't remember exactly which shop she told me she found it in, I wandered into an antique shop. I didn't find the chair there, but posted on the door was a sign that said "vendors wanted". I ended up signing to rent a space in that antique mall. I move in at the end of the month. My friend who saw my chair is joining me. How about that?
BTW, your doll who has come home again is very precious.
Great big smiles,
Teresa
It was meant for you to find her and bring her back home. Doesn't she look so comfy now? It's great to run across something you made years ago and let go of,only to rediscover and reclaim them again later on. Congrats on your find.
It is always good to return home again ~ I'm so glad your sweet little annie found her way back to you. What a sweet story!
How fabulous that you found "your doll" again! She was meant to find her way back to you!!
How sweet! I sometimes find my hand painted work for the early 80's in flea markets but so far I have not brought any back home with me. It is an odd feeling to see your work being resold that way. The doll is just adorable and deserves her place of rest in your creative space.
I'll be posting on the nest assemblage tutorial I bought from you later today after I get the photos loaded. It is not complete but I hope to finish it this evening. It is so much fun!
Have a sweet day.
How sweet Dawn...yes coming home again is a wonderful thing!
