It. is. over . . . Thank goodness!

Ughh! I can't believe I actually did this again, have a yard sale I mean! It is an extreme amount of preparation, getting up terribly early (I do not do mornings well), trying to sling it all out and make it look presentable and looking to the sky, that's is very cloudy, hoping that it's going to hold.

Well, it didn't. It rained and sprinkled all morning. The skies finally cleared up around 11:30 a.m. But I do have to be thankful, we still sold around 400.00 worth and it was more than I had when I woke up so, yes, despite the rain, it was a good day!

My most favorite part of the day? Well, yes, making a few extra dollars is always nice but my sweet friend Karin of Meandering Travels of Mindless Thoughts came to see me. Bearing gifts no less! This is the sweet bundle that she brought me pictured below. Knowing how I love all things baby, and precious tiny shoes, look at this pair of porcelain shoes!!! The sweetest little girl gloves ever. Amazing crystals in the prettiest shade of pale blue and gorgeous old sheet music!!! And a wonderful old folder that it came it too ~ Oh Karin. You are so very thoughtful, and surely brought a rainbow to my soggy, tired day. Thank you sweet friend. I will try to make you proud with what I create from these treasures! Hope you enjoy your goodies from the sale . . .

Hoping your Sunday is peaceful, relaxing and thankful ~
xxoo, Dawn

$400 is a great garage sale. Hope you got rid of lots and don't have to deal with it anymore. My place is getting full of clutter again, so It's about time for another one here in Texas. But I'm waiting till it is not quite so hot out.

$400 is wonderful, I know it is hard work, I need to have one myself. I just keep talking about it and doing nothing.

Oh congrats on your publishing work. That is wonderful and thrilling. I am off to get those. Can I have your autograph?
BTW, would you and hubby be willing to share your recipes for
Chicken Enchiladas, Shrimp Bisque ?
I would love to make those for DH. Sounds and looks yummy.

Hi Dawn....You showed great grit getting your garage sale ready... I will do that someday soon... I have way to many items that I just don't need.... You do that when you are a antique and vintage acholic ..... I am a jammer... My house always looks clean and is but just don't open the closets without a hard hat..... It is a habit I have never been able to break since a child.... You are a wonderful friend to all you meet and friends reward you and let you know how appreciated you are... You have a way about you with making other people feel special and that you care... I felt it just with your posts and your kind comments.. Its a gift and you have it..... You keep going girl.......

Yard sales can be quite draining but it is nice to clear some of the clutter. Looks like the package you received would have made the day no matter what! :~)

Dawn, I just got back from vacation and my adorable button jar was waiting for me! How adorable..I showed it off to my friend who happened to be with me at the time and we both ohhh and ahhhed! Heehee...we love to hate garage sales don't we? I mean it is nice to get rid of all the un-used stuff you have and make some money in the process. But the stress and aches in the muscles...uhhh...and I always end up with a sunburn!! I have my issue of Somerset waiting in my mail pile and I can't wait to see your piece! Angie

I was wondering how you did with the rain, because I thought about you, and we were down here in FL with lots of rain, knowing it was moving north. What a great sale, though! And a visit from a friend with goodies as well. How fun!

First, I want to thank you for the lovely bookmark you sent as my prize in your recent drawing. If I have thanked you, please forgive me for not remembering! It came right in the middle of my preparations for our recent "tag sale". I have been so tired from all of this---I can't recall a bunch of stuff!!! Sad, isn't it? Anyway, I love, love the bookmark and will always treasure it. Thank you so much. I know the "glad it's over" feeling. We just finished our sale yesterday and I am still tired. It was very successful, but we still have to finish putting the garage back in order. At least we made some money and my garage gets cleaned out---two very positive things!

We had a garage sale last September. This September my daughter's are having one and I'm contributing. It's a lot of work! Good to hear you have $400, for your efforts.

Beautiful things you received!
