This is the sweetest book that I found at an estate sale several years ago.
I love these precious fairies and isn't the little shadow pretty? The back opens up to reveal the fold-out book . . .
Please be careful where you tread, The fairies are about; Last night when I had gone to bed, I heard them creeping out. And wouldn't it be a dreadful thing To do a fairy harm? To crush a little delicate wing Or bruise a tiny arm? They're all about the place, I know, So do be careful where you go.
It is a sweet book. Many years ago (almost 10!) my husband and I started an online business selling metal garden stakes, that were in the shape of the fairies in this book! Someday I hope to show some of the pictures of these on my blog!
Thanks for visiting my blog! While you did not win the first of my many Rak’s, I still want to send you something! No pressure. Just need your snail mail addy and birthdate!
A charming little book indeed! My daughter gave me a pop up book all about fairies for Christmas. Funny how I enjoy looking at that book so often even though, at first, I found it odd.
I love Cicely's Fairies - she was a fabulous artist. I think my favorite has always been the Lavender Fairy - but then I look through the four little books I have, and see more I can easily fall for, all are so delicate and charming. Your fold out book is beautiful - I've never seen that one.
My name is Dawn Edmonson. I'm a wife for 42 years to the same wonderful man, mother to five amazing sons ranging in age from 40 to 25 years old and grandmother to three precious girls and two sweet boys.
I love to create one-of-a-kind artwork to sell in my Etsy shop. I enjoy keeping up with my blog and am amazed at the inspiration I get from others blogs and sweet comments that are left for me. I am drawn to all things old, with plenty of character and enjoy using small, antique trinkets in my artwork. Being able to create is truly my bliss.

I've been a big fan of Cicely's work for ages...she did the most beautiful illustrations. That's a wonderful book - lucky girl! : )
