My self-confidence always waivers when I create something ~ do other artists feel this way too? But when you have someone actually pay money for something you created, it is an affirmation of some kind that what I made is good and worth owning.
OK, now I just want to go create more . . .

These prints are so gorgeous! And your art is wonderful. I love your birds nest works very much. Nita
I have loved J.W. Waterhouse so long. He is truly a master of pre-rapphaelite paintings, in my eyes, but still there is nothing from him in books about artists!
Your art is wonderful Dawn! I bet it's a total high to sell a piece! I have doubts all the time. I think it's natural and I think it pushes us to find our true artist's voice. Love, Jamie
Hi, Dawn - I totally understand what you're saying. Yes, when someone chooses your work, and agrees to give you money it does feel affirming. :-)

I can so relate to this Dawn, I often feel insecure about my work when I do it. It is a great feeling when someone gets you and loves your work! You have a beautiful talent and definatly a girl after my own heart!
Have a great day! Heather
I so enjoyed your blog, very pretty. Would love to see your store. I will visit again.

Yes, my confidence does waver too. Then people love what I create, and I can feel good about it.
The first picture in your post is one of my all-time favorites.
Thanks for the tip about hanging plates around my mirror. I did feel like it was a little narrow and needs help. But I am wall-decor-challenged.
So true- that little bit of validation goes a long way! Consider yourself validated :)
Donna
I certainly feel that way. It does make you feel good that someone appreciates what you do and it is very validating. Your work is beautiful and I always enjoy your blog.
well miss Dawn, you seem to be taking etsy by storm, and i am VERY happy for you :) i am glad my comment finally showed up at delightful blogs, i wonder if the other two will be posted also...
You have obviously been blessed with talent and grace. Celebrate it!
My youngest daughter and I have been out buying art supplies for next weeks vacation today. Can't wait.
Dawn- you are truly a sweet person maybe the only one I know and I am glad you are my friend and I am very glad I inspired you to make "Froggy Love"- he is the only decoration in my new office. I am very thankful to have you and Cindy as friends.
as artists we always tend to be our own worst critics...
the thing is though..to love what you do...
if it makes you smile..and makes you feel good when you either create that really unique piece..(or for myself as a photographer..if I can capture that really special moment or object in time in a unique way(like a family at the beach..or what have you)....well..that is what really excites me)..and you'll be surprised ..that so often the things that we like..others do too.
