Having had the antique store for a few years now, I have met some of the most wonderful people. Jean is one of them. She has amazing taste, dearly loves antiques and will occasionally have a barn sale and invite us! I find the coolest, old things for the store at her sales.
I had told her that I would love to take photos of her home for my blog ~ well, she said, "Come on over!" And that I did. Her collections are magnificent and her knack for display is just amazing. Here are the photos, take a stroll through her home and . . . enjoy. (Be sure to click on photos to enlarge!)
Thank you, Jean

Yes thank your friend for allowing us to take a peek and thank you too! What an interesting home. No way does it look like anyone elses home. It is truly unique. So many nice things I can't list them all. I do love that she left the old kitchen cabinets it just fits. Did she do all the canning? Oh my gosh if so I'm impressed! I've never can a thing in my life.
Best,
Kathy

Oh Jean I love your home! You have stuck to one design which I have a hard time doing. I love all of the stone inside and out...especially the tub! The open cabinet with jars of green beans and tomatoes...the old scale and that cabinet I love...and your willow bar stools!!!
Now I'm recommending a restaurant that is so like your home...if you get near Paducah, Ky. this is in the town of Grand Rivers: http://www.pattis-settlement.com/main.htm And wouldn't you know it the photos arent' showing what that place actually looks like at all!
OMG ~ what a visual delight your photos are! I hope you don't mind that I posted your blogspot as a link on my blogspot (sewdeartome). I wanted my sister to look at it so that we can plan a trip to your shop! She's in northwest Atlanta, and I know she would just love to plan a trip there with me the next time I am there.
Thanks for sharing!

What a TREAT this post was !!!
Gosh , you got to walk around in a magazine !
Beautiful.
And You took great photos.
Jean Loomis has many talents as you all can see. In some parts of her house you feel you are in an old New England colonial, some a cabin in Montana, some an old southern appalachian farmstead but no matter what you always feel comfortable. I guess that is her style. Not only does she have design talent, but she has her incredible way of making everyone she meets feel like they have known her all of their lives. The warmth and invitation one feels in her home reflects her soul. It is intelligent, creative, thoughtful, industrious, perceptive and the list goes on. She is my "go to "person. By the way, for those interested, I have many stories !!
I am so blessed to call her "Mom"
love,
Dusti Loomis-Caver
Jean's house.
Everything was displayed and arranged so beautifully. I loved the stained glass in the windows and the canned vegetables sitting around in the kitchen.
