Making progress & a favorite book ~

I've been working on the outside of the fairy shoes using fragments of the dried leaves and matte gel medium. It was very tedious and I see a few more spots to cover but am loving the "feel" they will have ~ if you didn't happen to see my earlier post, these shoes were formed from paperclay and air dried.....they're about 3 inches long.....

Isn't it amazing how placing a simple item....as simple as a tiny hummingbird's nest....under glass gives it such importance!

I absolutely love books ~ not so much fiction but books that share ideas, instructions and timeless decorating tips. This book is just one of those. A beautiful book written by Eileen Cannon Paulin the former editor of Romantic Homes.
The name of the book is The Serene Home.

Gorgeous items, beautiful vignettes are featured throughout the book ~

Don't you agree the decorating on these pages are timeless?

I had to give you a few glimpses inside to let you see how wonderful it is ~ I never tire of looking through it and reading the special tips inside.

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

And the nest under glass, beautifull.
I have just ordered back-issues from Stampington, so guess I have to wait a bit before ordering more wonderfull reading stuff, but thanks for showing dear.

Oh no! I don't have that book. Goodness. It looks really beautiful. I have a membership card at Barnes and Noble that gives me a discount and occasionally sends me coupons. So, it's REALLY easy to justify buying a book, especially a pretty one. Last week I bought Blogging for Bliss and TWO Stampington magazines! YIKES. Or are they books too? I bought Artful Blogging of course and the new GreenCraft. So much fun! If you check out my post on books you'll see the problem I have. ;-)

The shoes are incredibly adorable, I can't wait until they're finished! You must have a sweet little fairy whispering in your ear while you've been working on these!

The little fairy shoes are wonderful. Can't wait to see them finished. The book looks great, wish we could get another rose book like Romantic Homes used to be. Some of us are just rose nuts.

Oh, love the book. I have to go the Barnes & Noble today and try to find it. did you notice that the serene home features soft, restful, colors, nothing bright, everything these peaceful faded shades. A color palette after my own heart.

Thanks also Dawn, for your generous sharing of pictures. The chickadees are darling and I saved it for a future project.

Kindest Regards, Eileen @ Star's Fault
