Little gifts and bees ~

I made this collage on a dessert plate recently ~ it's a little gift of thanks to a wonderful customer of mine, Marcy....she's so sweet for buying my artwork!! Your fairy shoes are on their way too!!



I've started gathering supplies to make a new assemblage. For awhile now I've wanted to make one about bees....I'm attempting to make a mini bee skep with jute to rest inside the assemblage ~ we'll see how that turns out!


To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,
One clover, and a bee,
And revery.
The revery alone will do
If bees are few.

THE BEE.

Like trains of cars on tracks of plush
I hear the level bee:
A jar across the flowers goes,
Their velvet masonry

Withstands until the sweet assault
Their chivalry consumes,
While he, victorious, tilts away
To vanquish other blooms.

His feet are shod with gauze,
His helmet is of gold;
His breast, a single onyx
With chrysoprase, inlaid.

His labor is a chant,
His idleness a tune;
Oh, for a bee's experience
Of clovers and of noon!

I've been very fortunate that our oldest son, Brent had a class in college on Photoshop. So he's been giving me mini lessons and I've been playing around a bit! I guess you noticed the new banner ~ I wanted to see if I could make my own and I did!!! It may not stay as I play with Photoshop more and more ~ I would love to make one a little more complicated but it's a start ~

This Friday is when Brent, Emily and Clara begin moving ~ they are so excited!!! I can't wait to see how precious Clara's little bedroom is going to be. It will be really quiet around here but thank goodness they'll only be about 3 miles down the road :)

Your new banner is very pretty ~ someday I hope to figure out Photoshop and make a banner for my blog.

The little plate is so sweet ~ I'm sure Marcy will love it. Those little fairy shoes are so sweet...I just love the way you think Dawn!

Dawn you lucky girl to have someone helping you with Photoshop. I bought a tutorial & am trying to work at this but, her version is 5.0 & mine is 6.0 & there is a HUGE difference. I am having trouble & she doesn't know how to help me with my version. FRUSTRATING!!!!! Love your new banner. Keep it up girl. I know you... you will get it & be a WIZ KID on it. And you will enjoy the quiet & yes... there may be a path to Clara's house but, that's OK too. Hugs my friend.

What a darling little plate! Your banner is beautiful..great job! Thanks for the "BEE" images...my maiden name started with a "B" and for some reason I'm attracted to Bee images, too!
Photo-shop. sigh. How wonderful you're learning that..I have a long way to go in all this computer-tech stuff. :-)

I really like your pretty new banner and to find out you did it yourself, WOW! that makes it even sweeter!! Love the little plate. Know you will miss your sweet little Clara, but think how excited she will be to see you when you come to visit! She is precious, one of my little sweet things is moving to Loisiana, ugh. Hi Dawn,
Well I can't see your new banner because my internet is so slow right now that it didn't bring it up. Bummer! I am sure it is lovely though.

My computer has photo shop and photo shop elements on it and I have yet to figure them out. But I hope to sometime. At least photo shop elements. I think I need to take a class or two!!

New banner is lovely...so is your blog. I have enjoyed the pictures Clara. My grand daughter was born around the same time as Clara. My daughter and I have a similar picture of our Norah in the same bouncy seat as Clara. We love all your beautiful artwork. Thanks for introducing me to Somerset!

Well, there seems to "bee" a lot of bee admirers. My email and my license plate are both "the bee52" as Deborah means "The Bee", and I was born in 1952.
