Where Bloggers Create 2013!!!

It's that wonderful time of year again!!!
Time to share our creative spaces with everyone
for
Where Bloggers Create!!!

If you've haven't been here before,
my name is Dawn Edmonson
and I just love making things!
And of course, if you love to create,
you need great stuff to create WITH so...

As you look through my studio you may be thinking,
"good grief that girl knows how to cram 10 lbs in a 5 lb bag!"
Well, you're right!!!
Please enjoy looking around my creative space....
I can't wait to see yours too!!!

We live in a 1925 old farmhouse so you have to walk from the foyer through
my studio to the master bedroom...
you can see the foyer on the left side of the photo below ~
and on into the living room.

I've skirted the desk to hide more goodies,
cigar boxes, cardboard that I use in my artwork, etc.

The sewing table...
it is skirted as well, hiding more supplies :)
(See the master bedroom door frame on the right?)

You can tell I love buttons too!!!

I love sorting them by color...that way you can find what you need in a hurry!

I love, LOVE my seam binding supply...from my favorite store ever Zipperstop!

I truly believe that if you surround yourself with beautiful things,
treasures that inspire you...
it will truly nurture your creativity!

I love to store supplies in vintage train cases and suitcases...
each one holds something different.
One has all the supplies for soldering,
another has all my supplies for paperclay and sculpting,
and I have one that is filled with embellishments to use on
sachets, bottle brush trees, etc.

I've stored lace in several suitcases and have even started organizing it too!

I love using old furniture in my room...
this small whitevcabinet always makes me smile.
What's inside?
Tons of cards that I've purchased and blank cards to create with.

This is one of my published pieces of artwork...
I've kept most every piece that has been published ~
And doesn't everyone need a spare wedding dress to cut up for lace??

I love this tiny glass cabinet so much...
I think I've crammed so many treasures inside it's about to burst!!
Again...surround yourself with all that you love ~

Another published piece of artwork, an Advent Calendar that I made ~

I also love surrounding myself with my all of my precious friend's artwork!!!

Inside one of the train cases:

I've saved this gorgeous box forever ~ I'm not sure what it's original use was but
I've stashed tons of vanilla buttons inside.

More train cases and their contents:

I have lace stored in several of these suitcases and in the accordian file?
Different papers that I can use in my printer...

Underneath the skirted wire shelves that flank my desk...

Inside a few of the drawers too:

I love my fabric stash so much...here's just a fraction :)

This is a tiny baby shoe pincushion that was one of my first published pieces!

The baby shoe pincushion on the left
was also published in the same article in Somerset Life!

I hope you've enjoyed my tour...
If you'd like to see a sampling
of some of my artwork and creations
just CLICK HERE for a few photos!

I can't wait to see everyone's creative spaces ~
It's so wonderful to see each and every one...

Thank you so much for visiting me!!!

No wonder you feel so nurtured and loved with all that beauty and inspiration surrounding you every day sweetie!

And when you are laying in bed dreaming up that new creation you can instantly jump out of bed, run around the corner and start making it LOL!!! You have everything at your fingertips.

This is definitely my style of "studio" where all the things you love feed your heart and soul everyday.

Much love,
Suzy

Such a great space, Dawn! Skirting tables is the best, isn't it? It looks pretty and hides lots more goodies! I love that huge canister of buttons. I just bought a bunch on Etsy recently and I have to sort through them. You're right ~ separating the colors makes it easier to find what you're looking for. I can just imagine you in here creating your beautiful sachets or pulling things together for one of your collages!

Blessings to you today

Like so many of us out here, you are my fav artiste of all time. I think it's because you inspired me to start my blog. And the fact that you love birds and nests. I spotted a couple cameos, one of which I sent you a couple years ago (the black one)! You have so much in common with your readers and other bloggers. We love your creative space, Dawn. Keep creating and thanks for staying close to our hearts. Stop in at Queen Bee Cottage when you have a moment to see my latest venture.

What a wonderful space you have, Dawn! I'm just getting started with visits. Yours is the first. I knew it would be fantastic. I have been away from my creative space totally for the past year. But your delightful collections have reminded me that I need a little beautiful corner just to stage a few delightful things. I will be coming back again and again to enjoy your things! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!

Still such a lovely workspace Dawn! My husband is now VERY pleased my craft room is downstairs, far away from our bedroom: I don't think he'd get much sleep if I was constantly creating next door since I listen to music and sing along most of the time. :)

Thank you so much for sharing. I always see pics of craft rooms that are ridiculously clean/organized. Made me feel guilty about mine. Your room is obviously home to a creative mind. Don't take me wrong you obviously have a place for everything, but I love the randomness of it!

Your studio is just magnificent as always! I always enjoy your tours and have followed you for many years now watching you create even since before you moved to your farmhouse!

I was lucky enough to have won your 5th Ann. giveaway and cherish the wall girl hanging oval you sent to me.

Keep the creativity going!

If yo can do this to your spare bedroom, I should be able to clean my attic up, you are inspiration!
Smiles, Cyndi

Dawn, your space is very inspiring! I enjoyed all of the vintage goodies and treasures you store in your studio. Thanks so much for sharing. I am in the middle of a studio/office transformation so this helps me get some ideas. I am always selling vintage, I never keep anything for myself! I am learning to not sell everything. :)

Dawn -- Im so sorry Im late to the party -- but Ive been working a lot -- and I just had to wait until I had time to truly SAVOR every photo and treasure.

Your room is absolute bliss -- I want to live there -- well, at least BE there -- and play there -- and pilfer to my hearts content.

The lace and buttons (OMG!) and all of your special embellishments that you use so creatively. The fabric alone is to die for.

I really dont know how you keep it all so beautifully organized -but you do and I am betting that you really DO know where everyting is. If ever there was a room that truly was the personification of the creator -- this is truly it. This room is so YOU --- it is easy to see why your creations are so dreamy and loved by us all -- anyone who creates in this special room can't help but craft lovingly with so much attention to detail.

I love your room -- I lust after your room--- it is so wonderful to be able to tour it once again.

xoxo,
Vicki

Dawn, your studio is dreamy! I love all the cream and white supplies. I also like how you used the fabric "curtains" to conceal the wire carts. What a great idea! I have to go back and study the pictures again.
