Thoughts on blogging...

Well...I've been blogging now for almost 7 years now.
That's such a long time!!!

Over the years I've realized that each person's blog is different.
Every blog has it's own message to convey.
I determined early on, that my little blog would be
uplifting and encouraging.

Yes, I could lay it all out on the table...
telling you the gritty truth that goes on around here
on a day-to-day basis.
But I've chosen not to.
You all have your own gritty, right??
Why in the world would you want to know mine?
I keep that loveliness to myself.

What I'd rather do is share what I'm creating...
even HOW I'm creating it.
And encourage you to carve out a little time from the gritty
to do just that,
be creative.

Happy weekend sweet friends ~
hugs and love,

Just my thoughts, too, my precious friend- I love my blog to be a creative and mostly happy place- as you so beautifully put it, -without
: " telling you the gritty truth that goes on around here "
And I ,as you know ,so love visiting this beautifully ,creative, and lovely place of yours, every day!
Thankyou for new gorgeous images, sweet friend...and a most happy and lovely weekend to you and your family!
(your beautiful gifts and shoes are on my blog :-)

Thank you for creating such a happy place to land where beauty, inspiration, and creativity are always present! I love your sweet attitude, generous heart, and that way you elevate and uplift even the most humble of objects to things of beauty in your artwork.

Dear Dawn

Hi Dawn! You have always encouraged me to be creative and to be happy in my own small corner of the world. When I started my own blog I took my lead from you and always try to be upbeat because I feel that if we want to hear about gritty and negative, we can get that from reality TV. And sometimes I get discouraged because I look at blogs that are so beautiful and creative, but then I remind myself that those bloggers are heavily sponsored and have therefore likely made blogging their full-time job. I think that there is a sector of the population out there that appreciates simple and positive viewpoints, with a dose of creativity and and honest to goodness positive everyday living! Keep it coming!! XO Sue

Dear Dawn, Your blog was one of the first I read, before I ever imagined that someday I might try this myself.. You are the example...seeing your beautiful header, your smiling face, your gorgeous work everyday is a gift. The fact that you have reached out in friendship to me and so many others through blogging, is the most generous surprise. You have chosen to lift us up...and for that I am so grateful. Wishing you many more years, many more blessings and much love! Have a great weekend my friend. Love, Penny

Yours is one of the few like it that I read as I so enjoy the kind of blog...I call them eclectic blogs...where the reader gets a little bit of everything. (I really think you do that quite well yourself leaving out the nitty-gritty, of course.) That said, I certainly appreciate the beauty and calm that you bring to Blogdom and I hope that you share your creativity with us for years and years to come.

You can lay your nitty gritty out to me :) There are times it's nice to know you aren't the only one in the world with heartache or a dark place you keep hidden because you hate facing it yourself. I've always loved your site, Dawn, for whatever the post was on. You're a love and I've enjoyed the relationship over the years. love and a tight hug, Nancy

Thinking of you, sweet Dawn and sending love and hugs across the miles. You were one of the first blogs I found when I started and you've been an inspiration ever since.
Thank you.

Well if your gritty ever gets to be too much, just give me a hollar via email and I will offer up sisterly hugs and strong shoulders to cry on, deal?

I love your blog and all its gorgeous creative eye candy you make and share.

Dearest Dawn
That choice makes you an inspiration, and often redeems at least part of my gritty, because when I visit I get a big wave of "it's good to be alive and even better if you're creating" - and I sometimes need that reminder.
Your blog is BEAUTIFUL!, it never ceases to amaze me how truly beautiful you can make just about... anything!, and your messages are encouraging and loving.
I visit every day, and I always leave with the feeling I've been touching base with a very dear friend, who cares and has a beautiful heart.
Thanks for blogging!

Thank you for these lovely graphics Dawn. The first one is one of my all time favorites. Yes, we all have our gritty, and I've enjoyed your blog as an uplifting and inspiring place to be. However... I think as bloggers we are our own unique family, and sometimes we need to share bits and pieces of the gritty to allow our "family" to pray and encourage us. You are appreciated! ~ Abby

Hi Graphics are great as usual and I agree with you 100%. I have found some blogs that doom and gloom and woe is me -not for me. I try to keep mine uplifting and sharing also. sometimes little goofy stories I do but that is all. Hugs to you my dear. xoxoxox
