The chaos of this little studio ~

I am always, ALWAYS trying to clean up this sweet little room!
Of course I had to choose the ONE room in this old 1925 farmhouse
that needed to have a little extra support from underneath...
so thank goodness our son Brent
knew how to do that, but truthfully,
I think he needs to come back and do it again!

I have piles of stuff everywhere!
Beautiful baby clothes that I need to find a home for...
lavender sachets piled up here and there ~

Beautiful fabric piled up and of course my fav...seam binding!

A baby bonnet hung on my tripod? Yeah, I'm nuts but I so love this little bonnet!

Ahhh...I'm loving my new iron and ironing board cover!!!
But look at the piles of lace and fabric stuck in the crack ~
Oh my goodness...

A simple makeshift photo booth ~ as this has to be the darkest room in the house.

Remember that I'm working on new living room curtains????
I've bought three giant canvas drop cloths, washed and dried them and now split
them each in half to create two panels for each of the three windows in our living room.

Well...now I've had the bright idea to add my favorite Waverly toile to each panel
as an inside border!!! I already have this toile fabric in our living room
as a table topper to a large skirted table
so it will be wonderful to have it on the windows as well ~

Oh look!
The sewing corner doesn't look too bad....

Here's the pretty toile...they will be 4" bands in the inside edges of each panel ~

I managed to finish one panel...only five more to go!!!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me!!
If you see an extra ad at the top of my post
please know I'm just trying to earn extra money
for my family ~

Wishing you a beautiful Friday and weekend as well!!!
hugs and love precious friends,
Dawn

Lovely toile, Dawn! I can't wait to see the finished panels. I like the idea of having plain panels {like the dropcloth} and adding fabric like you are doing on an edge. I'm going to try my first dropcloth project next week. Tableskirts for our master bedroom side tables that I saw on another blog.

I love what you're doing with the toile, but why on the inside? You always inspire me!

I enjoy reading your blog and I particularly enjoyed this post. It's nice to know that other people have "real" work spaces too. My work room is messy most days. Sometimes my husband peeks in and just shakes his head! LOL! Although I will say, you have an organized mess. I can't say the same for mine. :)

I feel your pain!!!! I know your pain!!! I have a sewing room... and until lately it's been a disaster, but finally got some more storage put in so the floor, ironing board etc are not loaded with "stuff". My paper crafting is an "area" in another room, I've made it better...but still I'm always moving things here and there so I can craft!!!! I love your curtains..I just love toile. I like what you're doing with an edging. Simply but beautiful.

Oh thank you!!! So happy to see that my studio is not the only one in chaos!! Actually I have similar furniture and looking at yours is almost like looking at mine!
Can't wait to see the finished curtains - I plan to get some drop cloths to make curtains for my bedroom and I LOVE the idea of the fabric trim!
Thank you for sharing!

Dawn, your studio is the perfect hideaway for a creative person. Your new curtains are turning out beautifully. I love toile - I have black and cream toile paired with black and white checks in my studio. Like yours, pretty soon, there won't be room for me in there. But what a wonderful place it is! I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely curtains hanging. -Terri

I'm with you on the Drop Cloth's...they are so soft after washing and almost like a fine linen! I've purchased, washed and cut drop cloths for my bedroom curtains this week, now I just have to sew them. Love the addition of your beautiful toile for banding...that's my other obsession, toile, LOVE IT!! Can't wait to see yours finished!
Hugs,
Pendra

Your studio looks juts fine, your lovelies are out where you can see them and you know what you have to work with!

I still need to donate a lot of things just to get my things out of bins!

I do love to have things displayed also like you do!
Smiles, Cyndi
