Enjoying the creative process...

I just love being able to whip something up fast!!!
Something pretty that I think you all will love too ~
But sometimes I think I need to rush through,
just to get that sweet finished product, you know?

These living room curtains have plagued me for a while now it seems but
today I tried to get back to them!
I'm finally on the last set as we have three very tall
and narrow windows in there.

I keep telling myself as I'm working on them to slow down,
and try to enjoy the process of creating them.
Curtains are not fun to make to me.
They are necessary and ultimately pretty
but just not fun to create.

I truly do think it's important for us all to remember
to enjoy the creative process, each and every step though ~

Here's a pretty bad pic I took late last night of one window:

Anyway...enough about those things :)

I wanted to share a quick photo of a few magazines that
I've purchased lately.
I've gotten so picky but each one of these had
some wonderful features!!

So we have a sweet little girl's birthday party tomorrow at
a local state park...please pray for sunny, mild weather for us ~
It's turned off cold here in Georgia and we just thought for sure
it would be a gorgeous Spring day and perfect
to have her party outdoors!!!
I still can't believe our baby Clara is turning four years old...

Wishing you a beautiful Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Hello Dear Dawn
See your muse has partially shown itself again and you are proceeding well with those curtains again!
Are you sure you don't have a bit of Fox Terrier in you as well - they just never give up!!!
Oh Congratulations dear friend on your 32nd Wedding Anniversary (only one year behind us!) and to be still in love with your childhood sweetheart!
Hope the sun shines upon you and your lovely family tomorrow as you celebrate little Clara's big 4th Birthday,
Sending some Wedding Anniversary hugs to you,
Suzy

Happy Birthday to Clara! Gosh, I can't believe she is going to be 4 ~ I remember you sharing pictures of her as a baby! Hope the weather cooperates. Your drapes are coming along nicely, Dawn! I love that bit of toile you put on the inside edge.

Your curtains are so nice Dawn, but I understand about the process. :)
I just picked up the Romantic Homes magazine today and hubby tells me that Country Living is waiting at home.
Woke up to about six inches of SNOW at my sisters house in PA...not what we wanted to see,but we survived. Ha!
Hugs!

Hi Dawn,
Making curtains absolutely drives me crazy so I completely understand. Takes forever and then you hang them up and hate them! LOL! I like yours though, but I think you know what I mean after seeing your posts about them.

I hope the weather is nice for her party too. The little ones grow up so fast.

hugs

Oh now I see how you did them! I could not imagine why you'd "hide" the toile. They are wonderful, Dawn. I'm sure that the room looks as if it has had a nice pick-me-up. Guess you'll not be going into the drapery business, though. It is a lot of straight, boring stitching.

Happy birthday to Clara and may she have the most delightful of days.

I totally agree, curtains are almost awfull to make, but oh so nice when hanging there, and yours looks beautiful, sweet friend.
Congratulations with Clara tomorrow, I hope the weather will be ok, and know she will have a gorgeous birthday, dear Dawn !!!
Hugs and love, Dorthe

I must be the odd one, as I actually enjoy making curtains.. and I've made a bunch of them over the years. I really like these with that strip of toile down the side. Very understated elegance.
Happy birthday to Clara and I'll keep fingers crossed for a pretty day. At least you have a better chance of warm/sunny there than we do here in the N.W tomorrow!!!! Hope it's a fun filled day.
