Hoarding peeks....

Is it bad that I have to look at my own tutorial
to make these little guys?
Good grief....my mind is going fast ~

So while these cheeky guys are drying, I decided to take a few pics
of my hoard ~ that's really what I should call it, you know.
Not my "studio"....I should SO call it my "hoard"!!!!

Some of the things are so sweet and so amazing, I know I'll never
use them in my artwork ~ on the other hand, some stuff I gather and I KNOW
I'll use them and have them on the ready to be incorporated into art...

The watch faces? I LOVE THEM! But I try to collect enough to share ~
I'll be using some of these in my class at the Paper Cowgirl Retreat.

But do you see the teeny, tiny buttons beside the watch faces?
I love them!!!! They are precious...so, so small for baby clothes ~
I just love looking at their smallness.

Lace is another weakness around here....
I hoard it like none other!
Certain pieces are just to be looked at and adored ~
others are good for the taking to use in collages, etc.

I even have a little gathering of dried flowers....
aren't they beautiful?

You all know how I feel about seam binding...
this is just SOME of it ~ if you need any, check the link in my right sidebar,
Jeff is wonderful to do business with!!!!

And fabric...ahhhh, fabric, can you ever have enough????

Or buttons???? I love them so ~

And yet I still love getting out and searching for more gorgeous old things....
some to create with, some to enjoy for just a little while then let go ~
and then there are those special finds I will treasure always.

Wishing you a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Yours is the hoard I'd most like to emulate. I recently found my mother's little baby jacket and hung it up in my studio and thought proudly to myself Now it looks like Dawn's What a joy to rescue a treasure from a deep dark trunk where I can enjoy it.

I would call it your "stash", Dawn, not "hoarding"! It's too pretty to be called hoarding. I love the watch faces and the lace. I know I keep things that I buy with the intention of using, but then I just love them so much to use!

Oops, meant to ask, Dawn ~ if I want to get some seam binding what 5 colors would be good for a first order. They have so many to choose from and I get distracted by all the pretty ones. I see you've got a lot of neutrals, but which are your favorites.

And I thought I had a lot of stuff! LOL!
Yours is a wonderful hoard and so 'eye candy'!
Love to hold and feel some of those laces and old fabrics....

Have a great week,

Beautiful, beautiful, hoarded pieces :)-- everything lovely and to fill the sences with beauty, and joy.
We all know the feeling of finding something gorgeous, and the wish of taking it home , sweet Dawn- so you go on "hoarding" those special items- and be happy to feel and see them, in your studio.
Love and hugs, precious friend-
Dorthe

Oh-What wonderful treasures. And it is sooo hard to let them go, isn't it? Even when you know they are going to a good home..it is still sad to see them leave. I love your NEST! xo Diana

I call that a stash, not hoard! Lovely supplies you've collected, I could admire them all day.

I have bins of fabric destash, lace, linens, stamps, inks, nature items etc. working wit mixed media like you do also is having an excuse to have too much! I also have things just to look, feel, and inspire! Smiles, Cyndi

I swear you took those pictures in my studio/hoard!! So happy that you said some things you just can't use because they are so special - that's how I feel and I feel guilty about it sometimes!! I've also built up a stash of the seam binding ribbon - thanks so much for sharing that source!
I love to see these types of pictures! I'm off on a ten day road trip - so my stash will grow! Although I never see the watch faces - love them!
Thanks for sharing!

thank you for sharing. Now I don't feel so bad. I have so many things do, little things, buttons, feathers, parts, rusty things etc... We won't even discuss fabric. Yours are so nicely organized. I have an old library card catalog full of things, unorganized :). Oh well some day I'll get there. Organized bliss!
