Thank you all so much for your nest building tips!!
I ended up adding a lot of things...
from moss to feathers, a few sticks and leaf fragments,
a purchased nest is tucked in the very center
and then one speckled egg.
I wanted it to have a natural look and feel ~

And you know what's funny?
I don't really like the color of the Rit dyed moss
now that it's dried...
but the coffee dyed moss looks wonderful
with the brown tones of the nest ~
and the smell?
I could hardly smell the coffee fragrance
after the moss had completely dried.

And here is my lovely desk after making only ONE...
I'll try to come up with something new to post about ~
I know you must be sick of hearing about these little things!

Loving your sweet little peat pot nest! I know what you mean about the coffee smell, I've used it quite a bit but luckily it does wear off...just needs time and fresh air :).

Dawn, Thank you for sharing my post. The poem really touched my heart. I labeled it "anonymous" but would love to credit the author if anyone out there knows their name.
I loved getting to post a couple of the images you have been so generous to share with us! Your mother and child images always tug at my heart.

Hi, Dawn! I love the nest in the pot. How did you get the paper onto the pot. That is a clay pot, right? What glue worked? I love putting nests in things, too, and was thinking of something like this with moss I collected from a river out here. I love the paper on the pot.
I love the baby shoe in the cloche!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it Clara's.
God bless,
Elizabeth

It's always fun to watch the process. Glad to know that the coffee was just the thing in the end. (I'd not mind a little birdy barista!) Off to read the poem with my tissue in hand. Oh, btw, your project is wonderful!
