That's what I'm doing! Now that my Artist Class tutorial has been submitted, it's all good!
I found a napkin in between some magazines beside my computer....
and what did I find inside??
Dried rosemary ~
From the rosemary plant that kicked the bucket months ago ~
but this snippet is not for cooking...it's for arting ~
Does a simple dried sprig of rosemary inspire you?
I just love it!

Playing with tags for the new antique space ~
which will be in Antique Griffin....
simple brown ink, a sponge and a little aging of small shipping tags.
I used to coffee dye them but oh well, who has time?
The sponge and ink are quick!
Plus, with a script stamp ~ it's all good.....

I'm trying out packaging ideas for the tiny baskets I found.
Three lavender soaps, wrapped in brown toile wallpaper
then secured with hemp cord.
Simple but that's what I'm after.....
I could add a small square of burlap though :)
Of course, I had to age the edges of the soap a bit with my inky sponge ~
don't stand too close to me, I'm dangerous with this sponge!!

I love how your little baskets are turning out! They are so you!
Is that a make-up sponge you're using for the ink? i never thought of that...I've been using the sponge paint brushes. I think your idea looks much better!
Your "sweet muse" definitely is...sweet that is!!
Dawn amor, I lOVE your soaps in a basket idea...you were soo right on with that! Your lil muse is soo inspiring :) Nissa is jumping up and down over here wanting her :) while I want that lil sodered piece that says WISH :) see I love the blow up feature on these pictures! lol Oh...Dawn I so wish you were near by so I could learn tecniques from you hands on..I learn by watching and doing...many times you explain things to me and my mouth says ok and a moment later I seem to draw a blank lol Have fun creating some more! Besos, Rose
Your baskets look just beautiful, Dawn. The tags are such a sweet detail! I wish you great success with your antique space! I guess my edges age by itself, so I better stay away from you, lol!
Have a good night, sweet friend!
Hugs,
Julia
sweet sweet sweet.
love how you did the baskets and your tags are great.
So, it is a sponge you use with the ink pad.
I stencil around the edges of mine, and after 27 years of stenciling and painting my hand is giving out. You have to use quite a bit of pressure to dry brush with paint.
Will try the inking.
Thanks for a great treats every time i come.

oooooh, I like the baskets right now Dawn. Simple, chic, perfect! Where did you find the them? Love 'em. I'll bet you've already made something wonderful from the little sprig of ro'. Do you ever watch the cooking show where they give them wierd ingredients & they have to turn it into a dish? Ok, here you go, rosemary sprig, EVOO, a thumb tack & a band aid..CREATE. Sorry, too much coffee this am. Lisa

loved the tags. too cute. mind if i do a few for my labels.? what antique space? i must've missed that.
Dawn,
Your booth is going to be fantastic! I might just have to drive to Georgia just to visit it! I saw the neatest idea for tags in an antique store last week. They were using old photos as price tags. They hole punched the photo and used a heavy twine for the tie. The item and pricing info. were written on the back of the photo. The booth is a very cool booth with all items in black, white, and cream. The photos were a perfect fit for the style of booth just as your earthy natural feel will be perfect for your booth. Love them!
I always love your posts. You give us such sweet eye candy. And that little fairy is adorable, you are lucky to be the keeper. Got one question, did you make the stained glass creation sitting if front of the fairy? The one that says wish. I love all the layers. And your tags are neat! Thanks for sharing with us.
Please take pics of your booth; i know it will be fabulous!
Love the soaps and how you presented them; really exudes a simple elegance.
I am a huge fan of rosemary, when the weather gets better, i can mail you a slip. I have a huge plant outside. Rosemary always inspires me...the scent permeates my brain. I can't make stuffing without it anymore. I can't wait to see what you do with it. If you try to grow it again, remember it likes a sandy soil. I used regular potting mix and some sand. Herbs like bone meal for a boost, kind of like our vitamins, except for herbs. (This whole post reminds me of French Laundry)
i wish my mind worked like yours. i have OCD:obsessive, compulsive
discarding disorder!
love the little baskets...everything here!
The soap baskets are brilliant, Dawn!

I love your tags, and the soaps! Good luck with your antique space; it looks like it will be so much fun, and I sure wish I lived nearby so I could visit it and buy some little treasures!
Love your baskets of soap and tags. You do such lovely work.
I am doing better, walked this morning and will start on my chair today.
Thanks for stopping by, I love your visits. Have a wonderful day sweet friend!
Hugs, Pat
Your baskets are lovely, I would definitely be attracted to them in a shop. I had to zoom in to see which ink you were using, I've tried some of those, but I haven't found the right color yet-I'll give that one a try {looks good}.
xoxo- Carrie
Dawn, I think you should put your antique booth on the road and come to my town so I can buy some of your delicious looking goodies! A traveling antique booth....how does that sound? ;-)
Diane
I have always loved your tags...I remember you sent me some with a goodie I won on your site over a year ago...I use one of those tags as my favorite bookmark. I loved them so much I made the aged tags to use on packages for 2 Christmas' running...I used the coffee method you suggested...but now...you have convinced me I should try the sponge technique as well! Love the baskets...so sweet!!
Hiya Dawn! Thanks for stopping by my blog..you are entered in my giveaway sweet friend!
Blessings!
Myrna
Dawn,

Hi Dawn!
Yes, it's me...your long lost Georgia blog friend! I haven't been by in awhile and I can tell I've missed a lot!!! Love looking at all your pretties and new creations...such inspiration! You'll have to get another rosemary plant come Spring! I have one by the back door and it has a wonderful smell when you "accidentally" brush beside it.
Lots of love and hugs, Bebe :)
