The best of intentions . . .

Don't we all start the day out that way?
With the best of intentions....to get SO much accomplished!
I totally beat myself up too if I've not achieved what I thought I should ~
I think sometimes that I concentrate too many times
on my agenda (which is TOTALLY self-inflicted) and not on the moment....
I. must. stop. doing. this!

I found the most wonderful lamp shades at Lowes
for the two lamps we found for our space!!
All in all these two puppies add up to be a little pricey
and I will price them way high
so we will have some incandescent lighting in our space ~
they don't look like they should be expensive though!
(When lit they have the look of burlap!)

I went ahead and just did the coffee bath for the tags!
It's really much faster (thanks for reminding me Rebecca!)
and they dried in no time.
Plus I did a little sprinkling of the instant coffee
over top and they look wonderful!

I had to use a little bird stamp too....

And I tried so hard to finish this sweet assemblage but to no avail ~
Here's a little glimpse....

Don't beat yourself up if you can't get it all done....
"tomorrow is another day!"

I hope you have an amazing Friday!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Hi dear, wishing you a wonderfull friday.
Your lamps looks so wonderfull with the new lampshades on, I don`t know what they will cost in your new place, but here something like that would be very pricy.
The tags looks so great dear Dawn, you made me want to go to my kitchen to do some myself.
And is it a sleeping beauty, you are working with? she is having a beautifull home.

I`m still trying to clean up my shop and working space, takes lots of time with all I have there.
Tuesday I go to the little family again to help them, as Mathilde is starting in the kindergarten. Here every child has the possibility to be looked after in the municipal, and the system payes the very most of what it costs, so parents only have to give a small amount every month, it is a great thing for young parents, that have to work.

Oh my Dawn ,this is more a letter than a comment
my thoughts just ran......

Sending you warm love and hugs from a snowy Denmark.

The assemblege is going well, very sweet, and dimensional with the window in the picture. It draws you into her little joy. I like the way the stripes in the pictures wallpaper are repeated in the background. A little cheesecloth and some twigs, maby add a little pressed flowers,,and your done! The right timing and it will come together, with God's help.
How's the little peanut?
Love ya Miz Dawn,
Marcie

Hey Friend......no matter how I try it...when I go "deeper" into your blog..it freezes up on me. Not that you can do anything about it..but maybe it is happening to others too, I'm curious.

I wanted to post about how I TOO love little fat birds...they are so darling...like those sweet Chickadees !
Yes, we do put self imposed challanges on ourselves at times. SSpeaking of which...I have so much "delightful clutter" sitting around the house...and I plan to use some of it during these Artists Classtime...I HOPE !!

Hi Dawn,

The best of luck on your new booth. I know it will look just gorgeous! The tags came out so great. I make a list everyday and never seem to reach the bottom of it. I agree with you, do what you can, tomorrow comes soon enough.

Enjoy your weekend.

I did the same thing yesterday, Dawn, and so did Sandy from Quill Cottage - dyeing things! I have been so into making tags for a couple of days and wanted to age some after reading a new book I bought about making messes dyeing paper! ;-) Today I might try some watercolor techniques on my tags, as I don't have any of those other products the book mentions from Ranger - the pearl stuff, for instance. Julia Andrus, the author has wonderful ideas for "beating up" tags! ;-)

Have fun today!!
Hugs from my messy studio!

What's your anticipated date of moving in to Griffin? I am working on a space at High Cotton with another friend and it will be more gifty and handmade items or repurposed. We are painting on Saturday. I really get energized with new projects. See you soon.

LOVE YOUR LITLE TAGS! THEY ARE SO SWEET! AND THAT BIRD STAMP IS PERFECT. I FIND IT HARD TO FIND SPECIAL BIRD STAMPS. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR SITES ONLINE?

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY, DAWN.

Hi Sweetie,
Love how the tags turned out, and those lamps are too cool. I made one ages ago out of an old crusty baluster and a piece of pediment but have never been satisfied with the lamp shade. I need to go to Lowes! Can't wait to see the finished assemblage. Have a good one. Lisa

Dear Dawn, those tags are so beautiful, do you make them or buy them? And do you just put some DRY instant coffee on the wet tags? They look perfect. I love the bird stamp!
All the best, Janine Chani

Dawn, Love the lamps and the tags. I do the same thing re: beating myself up for not getting everything done on my list. Have been writing about it recently on my blog, too. As always, love your work, it looks like you get a lot done to me.

Dawn, thank you for visiting my blog the other day, so honored. There are certain bloggers outhere that got my admiration for their creativity, artistry and plainly said awesomeness(is that a word?). Take care of yourself and keep creating, its all good.Blessings, Marta.

WoW!!! Why in the world would you even think about beating yourself up? You have more accomplished in a day than most people do in a week. Love all your projects-even the ones in progress.....Love Tiina...

Hello Beautiful Dawn!

Gosh...could I relate to your post today! I think we, as creative women, have a need to accomplish more than the "average bear". In addition, I think we are by nature "neat nicks". That means in between it all we try to keep our houses as tidy as we can, pick up after our children, prepare some type of a healthy evening meal...all of it!

I have learned over the years to creat a mental "What I DID DO list" in my head at the end of the day. That is so much better than focusing on what I DIDN'T do.

Love the lampshades! Great texture.

talk soon,

Cori

I love your tags! A friend and I *just* signed up for a booth at a local antique mall to display our treasures and art. I will definately be checking back in with you for inspiration in that area! I've been a follower for a while and I love it!

Dawn,
Such a good post...I do that to myself almost everyday...when I don't get through my never ending list of "things to do" each day. Thanks for the reminder ;) Those lamps are great and I LOVE your sweet tags...I am sure your space is stunning!
