Artwork beginnings ~

I ran across more of these beautiful photo album pages
in my studio and had to scan them in for you ~
feel free to click to enlarge,
then right click to "save image as".

This week is Spring break and Noah and I
are just chillin' around the house ~

Artwork beginnings:
I love these mats that are in old photo albums...
I look for those that are falling apart for a reason!

The front is just waiting to become something......
I cut a piece of cardboard a little smaller that the dimensions of
the ledger cover back.
Next, I totally covered it with old sheet music
using matte gel medium underneath and over top,
leaving a little overhang so I could wrap it around the sides
of the cardboard to the back.
The cardboard keeps the ledger cover from folding!

The back...yes it's the cover of an old ledger!
It's quite large so I've got to come up with something
wonderful for the central focus of this piece....

So....we'll see ~

Poetic Home has some WONDERFUL ideas on how to use these
gorgeous library card pieces....

I hope your week is going so good ~ Spring is definitely here....
can you see the thick coat of pollen on our porch??

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday precious friends!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

That's going to be lovely, Dawn! Great find on the old ledger cover. I'm still looking for some sheet music, but my Goodwill doesn't seem to carry anything like that.

I had to laugh as this is my first Spring in the South!! What a surprise that pollen was to us. Reminds me of the dust in AZ. Have wanted to take some pictures of it too!!

Thanks for the mats, Dawn. I'm sure I will be able to use them. Ah, yes, Georgia is noted for it's thick yellow pollen. I remember well from our 4 years living there. Our crocus are now gone and our forsythia and tulip trees are blooming now. Spring is here?--I think--we're expecting rain with snow mix tonight. Yep, that's central Illinois for you. I'd rather have the yellow pollen.--Sally

Dawn, thank you for the frames!

We heard on the Weather Channel this morning that the pollen in your area is the worst it's been in years and in some places even looks like SNOW!

Ah...spring! ;-)

Pretty pretty stuff, well, all but the pollen! We are covered up in it too. It is beginning to rain so maybe it will wash it away. Can't wait to see your newest creation!

Dawn..love the album pages. Thanks for sharing them.
Our news here in Florida says that the pollen count is higher than ever, and my allergies are in agreement! Orange blossoms out my back door and all around, plus huge Oak trees that are shedding!
But I love Spring.

I run across entire old photo albums that are chock full of those beautiful old pages. Sometimes, the album still has the original photos intact. So, so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your great ideas. Have a great Spring break:
