Thoughts on this big ol' blog world ~

Can you even believe how BIG blogging has become?
When I started in 2007 it was just the beginning (to me, anyway)...
and it was so wonderful!

Visiting beautiful blogs online and seeing such amazing inspiration,
FOR FREE! It was such a gift!!! And, of course, it still is....

Women love seeing beautiful things,
ideas they can use in their own homes,
recipes they can make for those they love,
plus photos that make them swoon and renew their spirit
to make something wonderful.

The best thing about blogs and sharing is that
you can find the best ideas to use for yourself,
to create gifts for someone you love...
or just to ignite that creative fire in you that you'd forgotten about.

I wanted to tell you a little something.
If you blog...
and think, "oh well, my blog is so tiny,
who really cares what I post?"
WHAT YOU POST MATTERS.
You will enjoy sharing with others,
and meet so many precious friends and
you are documenting your life!

Don't worry about being a BIG BLOG,
I'm not big by no means,
I'm just trying to make a tiny living to help out my family
and still continue to do what I love...making neat stuff!

What I'm trying to say here is
keep blogging, keep sharing, and
keep believing
that what you say and share
is WONDERFUL!!!!

If you've not entered my 1900th Post Giveaway

Wishing you a beautiful Thursday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dawn, you are so right.

I nearly gave up last year after nearly six years of blogging; I seemed to be in a rut and didn't have anything to say in any of my blogs (I have a few!)... but I HAD to return because I so missed the interaction, the pleasure of "meeting" others online, the delight and inspiration of visiting other blogs...

Without blogging, I never would have learned so much and shared so much.

Thank you for your reminder of what a great blogging world this is.

Such good and encouraging advice. I never knew what a big blog was until I ran into one. =D

Dawn-What encouraging words here-especially for those that are new bloggers and struggling along. It is hard to write your heart out and then not get any comments.

You are so spot on-that it does matter. I always write as if I am writing just for my family and that is the best part of it for me. You have a wonderful blog and I love popping by here- xo Diana

What a beautiful and timely thing to say! thank you for saying it and yes, it has changed my world and life and that is not easy to do. I'm going to write, any minute (month) now, an Ode to Blogging Women...when I have my mind in tact...which has been difficult for the past month for some reason. But I agree with you entirely and with much heart!

You are so right my friend, keep posting, keep sharing...Do it for yourself, and like minded friends will come. I've learned so much from you, the generous spirit you have, the loving way you talk. Especially the encouragement you give to new bloggers, it meant the world to me... Thank you Dawn! Love, Penny

I so agree, Dawn.
You can have thousands of followers, but at the end of the day, it's the handful of genuine friendships which make blogging so worthwhile.

So glad I "met" you through blogging!

Love,
Anne

Dawn Dear these are very wise words. I adore blogging and even Mr. C finally gets why I love it so much..."I have found my people!"
Wonderful weekend dear...

Dawn, Thank you, as always(!), for the inspiration and encouragement. I so would love to get more into blogging, but don't find the minutes in the day, or have the inclination to write every day, even every week. I am thinking of "going commercial" with it, but wonder if advertisers would be interested in my slow pace?
I hope to free my time up in the next few months and maybe do just that. My next goal is the etsy store. You have encouraged me before to go ahead and do it, and I have been dragging my feet. I want to be like you, Dear Dawn! (kind, generous and ARTISTIC!)
Hugs,
Sherry

Hello Dawn, *huge sigh* such wonderful words and images for this post! Also, the encouragement I needed tonight! Thank you, thank you for your support and inspiration, as always!
It's been forever and a day since I stopped by here and I'm kicking myself over that! I have your badge on my blog, for Pete's sake! Ah... everyday life, only so many hours in the day etc... Ha!
Just one more thing. Blogging changed my life forever (in a very good way)! I do what I do because I want to but I am geographically removed/isolated/challenged from physical "like minds". If it weren't for blogging I'd have no friends! I have "pen pals" now (remember those?) and it is so wonderful!
Thanks again for... you!
hugs!

Thank you for sharing that! Sometimes I do wonder why I blog, but it always comes back to my family. It's a place I can share my unique, and sometimes odd ideas, and stories. I know it will be something for my boys to know and remember me by. Plus, I just love writing. Even when things get busy and weeks pass, I'm always happy when I can return.

Your blog has always inspired me. Your artistry and creativity make me want to do more creating. Your obvious deep love of family is so beautiful to see in a world where people so easily discard their family ties. Thank you for creating this special place... a peaceful retreat!
