"The best things in life are nearest:
Breath in your nostrils,
light in your eyes,
flowers at your feet,
duties at your hand,
the path of right just before you.
Then do not grasp at the stars,
but do life’s plain, common work as it comes,
certain that daily duties and daily bread
are the sweetest things in life."

Sometimes, in this big ol' blog world,
we feel as though we have to show
something wonderful and amazing....
but with reading this quote,
I realize the everyday things that
we do for our loved ones,
that we might normally discount,
are truly our grand performances
that prove our love.

Hey sweets,
Beautiful quote. I think you could say the same thing about leaving comments. Not always in a clever mood :) So I'll just say beautiful!

I really like this quote, and have not read it before. It makes a person, sit up..and appreciate what is really important in our lives. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful post with stunning images. Thank you! Just coming here from Reva Solomon's sidebar of blogs she follows!
Oh Dawn, I agree completely. It is in those humblest things that I feel the most grounded, peaceful and content. It is a true joy to have the weekends to care for my home by giving it it's weekly deep cleaning. Funny how even laundry, the quiet act of folding clothes, feels so very good. I guess it's during those times that I am most introspective or dreamy, my mind waundering about from topic to topic, working little knots out or planning dinner or a new project.
Yes, I like that too.
