A "little" something to share ~

I taped a short video for you!
I sound like a hick, my arm is in the way part of the time
and said the word "little" about twenty times,
but maybe you can at least get the gist of what I'm trying to share!!

I'm showing how I make my loopy seam binding bows....
Take a look and don't laugh!!

I had to experiment to see if I could do this...
hopefully I can share more quick tips this way!
And about the seam binding,
I pull tons of it off the roll, slightly dampen it
and then crunch it with my hands over and over...
I then place it under a warm lamp to dry ~

And just in case you don't know where to find seam binding,
check out the link in my right hand side bar...
or click HERE to visit Zipperstop.com!
Be sure to tell Jeff The Feathered Nest sent you :)

Happy Wednesday sweet friends!
Hugs and love,
Dawn

Great job Dawn, I've never been good at making bows but this one really does look easy. Thanks! And I only laughed a couple of times because you said "don't laugh" :)

Well. I didn't laugh but I did smile the whole time I was watching :-)

Nice to hear your voice (which is deeper than I had in my mind for some weird reason), and thanks for the little tutorial. A pretty finishing touch for those beautiful creations!

You do not sound like a hick, you want hick put me behind the camera and you will hear some real hillbilly twang! You sounded wonderful and the your instructions were very clear. Get little tutorial. I have been wanting to do this for sometime now too only I don't have a video camera. My son said I can borrow his after he finishes up his video editing class. Love this, will there be more?

I love hearing your voice! You sound so genteel...like the sweet Southern gal that you are. Now I have wondered how you did that. How do you get it all crinkly?

Thanks Dawn for sharing your method. They are cute little bows that would embellish almost anything. I'll have to scrunch some of my seam binding and give it a try...oops look at the time, dinner better get fixed first.

I love your little bows, and your little needlebooks, and your little ole heart, darlin! :) Not so much as a sniggle from me, but hearing your voice put a smile on my face. Thanks for sharing! xo

I loved this, especially since I got to actually have you explain it to me as if I were sitting there with you! It was the next best thing to being there.

I was a little surprised that you have an accent Dawn. But if I was the one talking, you would think it was me with the accent right??? : )
much love...

Great video tutorial, Dawn! You explain things so well and make them easy to understand.

And from one southern gal to another, you don't sound like a hick to me! :)

Thanks for sharing! I have a lot of the seam binding thanks to you! I cut strips and dip them in walnut crystal dye (or tea) and then just roll the ribbon between my hands into a ball, let it sit on a towel to dry and I get the crinkled effect with different shading - turns out really vintage looking.
Love your blog and it was nice to hear your voice!

Hi Dawn--why would anyone laugh? This is a GREAT video, and so nice of you to share it! Oh, and I just LOVE your accent--my grandmother grew up in Atlanta and moved out to the west coast when my mom was about 6--I always loved to hear my grandma's southern accent--it was lovely and unique. Although she's been gone for a long time now, I can still hear her voice. Have a great weekend!

Hi Dawn, I love that sweet Southern accent...I used to have a slight one and my New England in-laws would make fun. Then I visited with my Grandmother in laws' sisters...born and raised in West Virginia.. and they thought "I" had an accent!!!???
LOVED your video and thanks so much for the tutorial. I had never been successful in creating that kind of bow, and now I know how to do it thanks to you.

Sure hoping you are still reading your comments. I have nearly 100 pkgs of seam binding that keep showing up in those mystery bags of craft materials at the thrift shop. I couldn't figure out how to use it at all until I began blog hopping today. I stumbled on your tute and I am ready to begin doing bows tomorrow. Thanks so much. Now to go look at the rest of your lovely things.
